Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Just woke up and checked the Facebook feed and friends of mine sharing outright ridiculous and bordering on aggressive anti stadium propaganda and these people I'd consider dyed in the wool Democrat voters. Just goes to show how embedded the suburban mentality is in this city and a near ignorance r...

The purchase by McClatchey in 2006 was just as much a factor.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
That is it? Absolutely disgusting. Vote this bullshit down. I don’t get this. What’s the problem? It seems pretty minimally disruptive, compliments and expands the South Loop cap, doesn’t create an additional restaurant district to compete with the Crossroads, melds into the existing parking infras...

Re: Is the Streetcar Extension bringing new development as promised?
Interest rates, elevated construction costs, and yes, they want construction finished first. They want construction completed even before proposals? At this point I’d say most all construction will be completed by the end of the summer. Get your proposals in now to be ready for shovels in six month...

Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Six years of Mahomes and I think we are finally starting to make at least some ground on that idea that KC is in Missouri though. All that work we've done is going to be undone by the University of Kansas football team playing in Kansas City, Missouri. It's going to break everyone's mind. Wel...

KC is so paranoid about potentially pissing off a developer on big project.
Totally lose perspective on the power dynamics.

I still can't believe it's happening.
Thought for sure it was one of those "Wouldn't it be cool..." ideas that never goes anywhere.
WB has a lot of energy at the moment.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
First off this is a small part of the entire crossroads, but mostly, that area is just not well developed at all. I mean I don't get the love for the area. I hate tearing things down, but geez. That area is not really urban, it's half parking lots and very few of the buildings are worth getting wor...

Re: OFFICIAL - Pennway Point
Shouldn't give up on Pershing, it's the center of gravity for people visiting KC, between Crown Center, Liberty Memorial and Union Station.
Should definitely be an urban pedestrian plaza, but would settle for a nice boulevard.

Widen sidewalks on both sides of Pershing, add street trees.
Massive crosswalks with islands on both crossings of Broadway.
Enter thru Carter/Waters building take elevator/escalator down to fun.
Tourists will walk there guaranteed.

I can't figure out how to get this uploaded to a place where it can be shared more easily, but I have a potential map at this link. Dark blue spots = stop. Light blue = maybe stops. https://netorgft3285534-my.sharepoint.com/:i:/g/personal/sowens_collinsandwebb_com/EUPjWI9qzKxFjtXxwrdDG38BFc0dL3IfWS...
