Re: Urban laundromats: Real urbanists stand up...

there was one day in my two and a half miserable years in miserable warrensburg that i used a laundromat. the rest of the time I drove away from miserable warrensburg to my mom's in KCK every weekend, and took care of things there, and stayed for the weekend, because I found warrensburg miserable. ...

I prepare five of these every week. Since I don't post pics with family on the Internet, only one qualifies this week. So here.

I was going to ask if he was still alive. But heck! I can search the Internet. Apparently he is! Hooray! I found this site: http://www.kcur.org/waltbodine.html. Good for him! And you, Tosspot, for knowing who he was!

Re: WHB Scavenger Hunt

Thank you, bbqboy and KCKev! Great history! And most of it was prior to my time!  :D  Walt Bodine was a Kansas City fixture. Nice man. He loved the City. I didn't know what the radio personalities looked like, but I remember Charles Gray's voice. WHB is so entrenched in KC's past, but what a struggl...

I was trying to bring the thread back on topic :) Maybe I'm continuing the deviation, but I have to say here that I never cared much for Subway until they started toasting their sandwiches upon request. I always tell them to toast mine twice. And, yes, as someone said, their vegetables are reasonab...

Re: Broadband Internet providers in KC

Gosh, it sounds like a crap shoot. I had dial-up with Primenet when I lived in KC. The provider was sold to Mindspring. Then Earthlink picked it up. (Story of my life. I sit in one place and my employers and ISPs change three times.) Anyway, I moved to Roanoke, VA, which is located in a valley, surr...

Re: Urban laundromats: Real urbanists stand up...

Like the one time I bothered using the Westport Laundromat when I moved here, it takes like a minute or two to walk between my apartment and there, so I just put the crap in the washer and went home, came back thirty minutes later, but the crap in the dryer, went home... Practical and smart, yes. F...

i like the www.prukc.com site to check out properties. I bookmarked that one. My husband has been looking for houses in KC over the Internet, although we won't be returning for several years. He's amazed at how many houses seem to be available in Kansas City right now, and he's afraid the prices wi...

After I get the violin down to where I'm competent in it, I'll be inheriting my maternal grandmother's piano, and then I'm going to learn to play it too. I'd be lying if I said the idea of somehow combining the music and photography never crossed my mind. You'll enjoy the challenges that lie before...

Your pictures are won-der-ful, as usual. They are a delight to sit back and enjoy. I love the violins picture. So, in addition to all your other fine talents, you play the violin? I understand it is the most difficult instrument to master. Have you considered recording your own music and then let th...

I don't know how to link to threads. I think you can just go to the page of the thread you want to link to, copy the URL from the address bar, and paste it into your post. I picked the third page of some thread to see if it works: http://www.kcskyscrapers.com/newforum/index.php?topic=8570.40. Yeah,...
