Re: New Riverfront Women's Soccer Stadium
The stadium looks unfinished or something to me. I think the stadium is neat, but the exterior looks cheap or something. I'm sure it's fine. Just a first impression.

Re: Capping the Loop
Said all along this has no chance of opening prior to the world cup. They might start construction before the WC if they are lucky. How does MO have the money to widen I-70 across the entire state when most of it doesn't need it? I-70 only needs to be six lanes to Odessa for example. Widening it fro...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I just used Paseo as an example. All of downtown's streets are way under capacity. I'm not advocating the closure of Oak, I'm simply saying that downtown KC has way more capacity than it will use in any of our lifetimes. That doesn't mean it can't bog down due to bad traffic control etc, but there i...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Need to make Main only accessible only for those accessing businesses, hotels etc on Main. Discourage through traffic on it. Right turns only. Big problem with doing that now is they have put the tracks in the curb lanes instead of center running. That means even cars using Main for local access and...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I am just genuinely curious as to how downtown would handle say a sold out event at T-Mobile at the same time as a decent crowd at a Royals game with all the different scenarios (Oak closed or open, Walnut closed or open etc). I honestly think it would do fine even with Walnut, Oak and Grand closed....

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Has anybody done any sort of real traffic studies on this? A quick study giving you pretty decent overall results of closing streets etc would only cost like 10k. How does anybody here know what Oak will do etc? I'm not saying it should be closed or that there will be no negative impact, but I don't...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Transit is never going to improve to something more robust unless downtown becomes more of a focal point again. A downtown is stadium gives KC another reason to start building an actual LRT system. Kind of a chicken before the egg thing. At the very least, you might see some drastic improvements to ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Honestly, that would’ve aged terribly. That rendering was never remotely realistic. Look at the seating bowl, no access upper sections from the concourse, I guess everybody just entered from the bottom and walked up to the top. I think T-Mobile looks great still today. They do need to redo the plaz...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
So many good ideas that could be done. Will the royals do any of them Remember the talk on here was active every day not just game days I don't think it would matter to 90% of those that are against it. I think they are just using "save the crossroads" as low hanging fruit where they can ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
That building on the right went up in 2010. That was the first new tower in Nashville in decades. Then over the next 15 years the skyline has nearly tripled in size. Insane. We all know about Denver, Charlotte, Austin etc. I have a feeling the next city to boom will be Salt Lake City and possibly ev...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
That Crossroads District actually could be one of the most amazing urban neighborhoods in the midwest or even country, if KC would just allow it to happen. I think this might be where you and, for sure, the Royals are getting it wrong. You’re saying that with your ideas this could be a great place....

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
^ this....... The only problem is that this is an echo chamber of a very small group of people that are for this and know what downtown KC lacks and needs. I feel like only 10% or less of the population of greater KC aligns with people here. I don't know if it's because people don't ever leave KC or...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Grid nobody is arguing with you? What would there even be to argue about in your post? Nobody here really. These are arguments I have with people on social media along with family and friends that live in KC. And by the looks of the posts here, many here are doing the same. Seeing people say that e...

Re: West Bottoms Redevelopment
Some of the complaints about the building were graffiti and missing windows. The same thing was said about The View before it was renovated. If they can renovate that train station in Detroit like they have, they could have renovated the weld building. The city should have stepped up and made it ha...

Re: West Bottoms Redevelopment
Even though this building has been empty for decades, this bothers me way more than anything in the way of the stadium in the Crossroads district. Taking down that building will change the whole architectural and historic feel of the west bottoms. It could have been saved. It should have been saved.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
It's a beautiful early spring day, with two major events happening downtown. I just walked from truman to 20th on "Grand Boulevard" and encountered single digit pedestrians. Think about that, just really insane, and quite typical for the neighborhood. Good god, the freaking quote of the c...
