Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

Matches spread across three weeks with three weekend matches including one with probably no other competing matches on tv is pretty great.

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

The REI Co-op store in Wichita isn't big but they make better use of the space than the one in OP. I always wondered how long it would last but after becoming a frequent customer over the past year I've discovered they've done a great job with engaging the local bike community and do a brisk busines...

Re: OFFICIAL - Prairiefire

I'd think they'd get more attendance from a college soccer hall of fame given the number of soccer tournaments in JoCo just down the street from PrairieFire. Seems like there are a lot of soccer hall of fames but nothing dedicated to college.

Re: Parker Square Apartments Renovation

Owner wants to renovate these apartments and renew the 20 year HUD housing contract keeping the community 100% Section 8 housing. Around $50,000 per unit (maximum HUD allows). Port KC is working to help facilitate this project. KCPS (Kathleen Pointer) and Community Mental Health Fund (Bruce Eddy) w...

Re: Midtown Area Apartment Boom

Not trying to be confrontational, but a few comments on here that while this is a good project for the site, it lacks excitement. I'm pretty happy with the design, materials and particularly the scale from the townhomes along Penn to the five story building. Curious as to what WOULD be exciting and ...

Re: General Amtrak Discussion

Hopefully they figure out how to connect the Heartland Flyer and Southwest Chief since the arrival in Newton (KS) to/from KC is between 2-3am each way. Not a great location to be stuck waiting on a connection for a couple of hours in the middle of the night.

Thoughts on running WB streetcar down Westport Rd and EB on 39th back to Broadway? Would mean only one lane of tracks down each street instead of two.

Re: KU/KCK <-----> TSC East/West Transit

I have questions. This is terminating at Van Brunt? Not continuing on to Arrowhead and Rock Island Trail? A Linwood routing will add another stop for the Main Street extension, slowing that route? I don't understand why they don't go with 31st. No additional stops added to Main E 31st west of Troos...

Re: Downtown office vacancy

As a numbers guy, I find the data less than desirable. They moved from two data sources to one. And that data source is mobile device usage that includes anyone that is driving through downtown on the freeway. What does the data say about someone going taking the shuttle to the airport and doing som...

What's laughable is that the key metric used to determine recovery is electronic device usage.

Re: Texas Rangers World Series Parade

Arlington and Tarrant county funded a lot of the stadium(s) - if parades are held there, they deserve it. Probably gonna be a clusterfuck if they haven't finished construction on the nearby interchange/exit ramps, though. How is the area handling transportation to AT&T for the World Cup given th...

Re: Burger King - Midtown Sites

I read where corporate is requiring upgrades to all BKs that aren't 'new,' similar to what McD's and Wendy's have gone through over the past 4-5 years. I would imagine that the Midtown, Troost and Wornall sites would've been almost cheaper to tear down and start over they were so bad. Maybe the fran...

Re: Crown Center: urban disaster, shining star, or in-between

Crown Center got hit hard by the pandemic and is finally starting to get some momentum so maybe there's still hope. Hallmark is consolidating all of the business on the upper floors of the main McGee building, so the old original building that fronts Grand will be empty soon - will be interesting to...

Re: T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center)

What was the big announcement yesterday? All I saw was that there would be a 20 game conference schedule for men's bball (yawn). The extension of the contract with T-Mobile until 2031 is still unfinalized. Side note: the women's bball conference tourney games will be moving to T-Mobile from Municpal...

LOVE Meshuggah!! But if they have non-bagel, non-carb breakfast options then they need to get the word out. There's not even a bagel with egg option.
