Looks similar to the now destroyed 1960's Atlanta multipurpose stadium.

Trinity hospital site in negotations - possible towers
I find the possibility of Cleveland Chiropractic moving its campus to the Trinity site intriguing. From an environmental/recycling viewpoint this would be a good move as the old buildings could be re used without demolition. It would give the college excellent visibilty and put a lot of young people...

Cleaver had nothing to do with the stop lights on Bruce Watkins. It was an agreement made years before his reign with neighborhoods and MODOT.

Traffic Circle for Westport Road
Believe it or not, there is a plaque on the Old Weswtport shopping center citing an architectual award it got when built. The bookstore is more fun than Barnes & Noble and I use the hardware store a lot. It just takes a long time wait for a traffic break to jog across Westport Road without a sig...

Streetscape Plan Unfolding
Whatever is done I hope the design is one that is easy to keep clean (no nooks and crannys to collect trash) and maintain. Please dont put in something without funding to maintain it. This city has a tradition of building things and not spending money (or having money) for maintenance. The example I...

Who says JoCo doesn't have high culture?
I was not being entirely facetious in this post. I am a huge fan of outsider art and consider the Easter Island sculptures heads above concrete lawn cherubs without balls. One of my favorite art sites in the world (and I have been to Egypt, Peru etc.) is the Garden of Eden in Lucas KS.

Mc Cormick & Schmidts is putting in a steakhouse in the old Anteks location under Figlio's. That will be the 4th upscale steakhouse on the Plaza.

Traffic Circle for Westport Road
From what I heard city staff people say last night was that there was not room for any sort of traffic circle configuration. The owner of the Old Wesport center seems loathe to have any of his parking lot shaved off--he was still grumbling about losing land when the trafficway was built 50 years ago...

The best sculpture garden in the metro is at 81st and Antioch. No need to fly halfway around the globe to see Easter Island. There is also a great house around the corner that is a combo of modern and roman imperial.

What region do Kansas Citians identify with most?
There is a lot of southern influence in KC. Most of the original settlers came from Kentucky and Tennessee. MO was a slave state. A lot of social attitudes are southern and we are one of the most segregated cities around. Missouri has a state song that makes flying the stars and bars of the confeder...

From the angle of KC Place in the background I would guess the old Harzfelds Bldng. Of course your hint about that old street name gives it away. What ever happened to the Thomas Hart Benton mural above the elevators in the Harzfelds Bldng? Is it still there?

It would seem that any structure built in the channel would reduce the capacity of the flood control system. Also remember the San Antonio Riverwalk is not a flood control system and its water levels remain constant. There is a diversionary canal that intercepts the San Antonio River befor it enters...

Whats going to happen to the skywalk system connecting the Towne Pavillion to its garage when the Jones Store is demolished? Doesn't a small section of the passage enter the building between the 12th St. bridge and the Chambers Bldng.?

There will be some clear glass "window" areas but the bulk of the glass covering will remain the sandblasted frosted glass planks.
