Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Just noticed that Grand is two lanes in the rendering, with the sidewalks widened on the stadium side. I think one of the slides at the presentation talked about enhancements to 18th street and Grand, but it was hard to tell.

FYI, the renderings in the Royals tweet are huge if you open up the images a new tab. Allows you to get a better idea of the street-level experience on the north-facing rendering.

Re: Is the Streetcar Extension bringing new development as promised?

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Frank White has vetoed the bill authorizing the April vote, and he's got 3 other legislators signing on with his veto (which provide a veto-proof majority). He's got an auto-reply email stating that this only pertains to it being on the April ballot, but I'm really sick of Jackson County's role in a...

His input is informed. Whether you like the message or not, it's good insight into what works and doesn't work. It may be a little biased at time but it's great to have connected people on this forum so it doesn't simply become a collection of unrealistic wish lists and negative rants. 100% agree. ...

*- The Gillham stop should be removed and the Linwood and Main stop be shifted eastward a little bit so you don't create another stop on Main 2 blocks from 31st. The other stops I mentioned are already close to KUMed and Clark, Troost, and Prospect. The building stock around the Gillham stop makes ...

Mayor Lucas and Manny Abarca (Jackson County Legislator) have both tweeted out that the numbers in the secret, leaked memo are detached from reality and have alluded that someone (Frank White) is not negotiating in good faith.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

What was the sporting goods store in the middle of the old picture? I can't remember the name but it was all the rage when I was a kid. I remember we made a special trip down there (I grew up in Platte City) when I was a kid, but that was a long time ago. I’m thinking it was called the “Sportscastl...
