Re: EPA moving to Lenexa from downtown KCK
I figured you would mention high speed rail and I've avoided that thread because I am a huge skeptic as to its value. I want to concentrate on intra-city public transportation, the day in, day out travel between home and work. That is where the bulk of transportation energy is consumed. The HSR ...

Re: EPA moving to Lenexa from downtown KCK
What has he done for it? I understood that there would far more federal money for cities to build this kind of infrastructure but I've seen no benefit. Funding rebates for electric cars is an expensive and ridiculous distraction. It's not what he is for or against that matters or what he will re...

My problem is not the location, but the idea. A failure will help no one.

Re: Cerner still committed to Bannister site
Why is this moving forward? Is the SEKC vote that important to someone's re-election? I agree with highlander, it's doomed and frankly will come back to haunt folks, ie another example of KC failure. They really should think outside the box, pardon the pun.

Re: Despite the Costs, KC Sprawl Continues
talk radio is so painful. any show with people who call in is terrible, whether it's glenn beck or talk of the nation. i get really stressed out when even a reasonable caller begins rambling and the host is trying to cut them off. it makes me cringe in my chair and become unhappy. Ha ha ha ha! ...

Went for happy hour today, very nice. Just the vibe I like, good music, casual but interesting food, and lots and lots of great beer. I'll be back.

If you really want to know what you're getting, move to the middle of bum-fuck Missouri or Kansas and live there for a year. 1% is going to seem like a bargain.

Re: Missouri Earnings Tax Initiative, Proposition A
It's got nothing to do with "living within your means". You don't like paying taxes, we get it. Suck it up or go work for the Gladstone Tribune. I don't get why people think that big city amenities don't come with a cost to all who share in them.

Re: Milwaukee opinions?
Need to make another shout out to Milwaukee, what a great city. I think it is very much a peer to KC in size, scope and current place in progress. Stayed at the Pfister, an elegant hotel, not unlike the President. Walking distance to the MAM and lots of dining options. The 3rd Ward and Water Str...
