Re: 2013 - 2014 College Football Season
Reports I've read say as many as 29 or 30 of the teams already knew. As many of those draft projections incorporate reports from the teams themselves as well as the numbers, some of that might already be baked into his ranking.

I'd pay cash money to hear what Billy Joe Shavers had to say about the P&L district.

Not until 2017. They might not want to sit on them for that long, not making any money and inviting an attractive nuisance lawsuit.

I wondered how much he offered and how much mac would take now that they know they can't demo and build a new building.

There was a occupant change on the list of permits, from the resto to the hair salon

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??
Tenant finishes in progress for store fronts at 5th and Grand. Based on what I can find with the City, it looks like the corner is going to be a hair salon, the next storefront over (to the west) is going to be a law firm.

Re: Changes @ Broadway & Valentine
Definitely on its way down. I drove past it yesterday, and it looks like they're mucking it out before they knock it down. Based on what they were shoveling out, it looks like there might have been a fire in there at some point. FWIW, the demolition permit is held by a deconstruction firm, which mea...

Re: hyde park: believe the hype?
My reaction to the design (garage) was immediately negative. I think the whole thing is a little modern to be modern, but would you call it a snout house? I normally reserve that for those houses where the garage sticks out so far you can't see where the front door is. Like this http://www.sippican...

Re: hyde park: believe the hype?
You have a pretty broad definition of a snout house. I certainly don't think that the garage is the dominant feature of the house, and you don't have to walk past a bunch of garage to get to the front door. The garage protrudes a little, but that allows for an overhang over the front door (if you ex...

Yeah -- maybe they could have matching vacant lots on either end of Johnson Drive.

Re: IKEA may be coming to Merriam Village
how long until the hobby lobby in mission closes? the border war is so much bigger than the state line... Honestly, good riddance. That enormous parking lot is a blight. You'd rather an enormous parking lot and an empty store? I'm not optimistic that something else will take it's place any time soon.

Re: Prospect MAX
Lots and lots of people ride the 39 bus. I understand the appeal of lines bringing people into downtown, but we also need to be moving people across Midtown. I kinda feel like we need to focus a little on that before another N-S line. Sorry about getting off the Prospect topic. I checked in with KC...

Mission steals the Wal-Mart (in theory), Merriam steals the Hobby Lobby, and so forth.

Re: Metro North Mall
I overheard a conversation at a Mardi Gras party. "I wanna live at Metro North!" caught my attention. Some artists were excited about working at Metro North, proposing a music festival or some picnic-themed thing at the balloons. The more excitable one was talking about 'guerrilla-style' ...
