Re: beer.

Had an opportunity to try Lunar in the bottle last night. I really enjoyed it. I'm a sucker for a yeasty beer - and this one definitely fit the bill. It had a nice brown color - good body. But the overwhelming characteristic was the yeast for sure.

I'm a fan.

Re: 13th Street Bar & Grill

I don't care if a bar doesn't have TV's - we just happened to be looking to see the end of a game. But, if they don't, they should at least play music at a decent level. I don't want the other bar patrons to hear every word I'm saying.

Re: OKC's Big XII Tourny ... National media response

Omaha may not be home to a Big 12 school but it's still (unfortunately) home to the largest amount of husker fans anywhere.
What does that have to do with basketball?

Re: Decks/patios dwtn bars

Levee has an outdoor area.
They've closed it in pretty good on the upstairs deck. It has those huge windows that they can open up (like Reverse has), but it's fully closed inside during the winter. I haven't been in the summer with this layout to see if it feels like you're outside.

Re: 13th Street Bar & Grill

Walked in there on Saturday night. Looked nice, but didn't know it was non-smoking. It was also apparently "non music" as you could barely hear the music. So, it was like walking into someone's basement where you don't know anyone. We turned around and left. We were looking for something a...

Re: Days of the week

Monday is $6 pitchers, burgers and pizzas at McCoys. Plus they have $2 pints after 10p almost every night. Sunday is $1 or $1.50 draws at Twin City Tavern. That may only be during the day. I think Velvet Dog has half priced wells on Thursdays. At least they used to. I think The Brooksider has Thurda...

Re: Kansas City NHL Articles

I heard Bettman was having a press conference today, but I'm guessing it has to do with suspending the douchebag who decided to play whack-a-mole with his stick and an opposing player's head. Should be out for the rest of this year and part of next. At least.

Re: Kansas City NHL Articles

I still say they get a deal done.

If they can't it's painfully obvious it's their own damn fault.

Are we giving away to much in order to get this?

Re: Nazis in Columbia

While we may be a democracy, that doesn't mean that we HAVE to give these people the right to make these marches. By "these people," do you mean the nazis? anti war protestors? civil rights protestors? anti abortion protestors? Should we have someone give you a call when a group wants to ...

Re: Indianapolis - (Final Four trip)

Isn't there a Hilton downtown on W Market near the capitol? I'm not seeing it on the map - although it could be the Adam's Mark and that map is just old. I liked downtown Indy for the brief time I was there. I did not think that it had any better of a feel at night (kind of quiet/sketchy where I was...

$20 (and a large extra-topping Pizza Hut deep dish)  says that FATro comes on his show tomorrow talking about how he knew, all along....
That would be like betting you could comment on Petro without talking about his body.

Re: Antler Apartments in Westport

My first place in KC proper was The Santa Maria - across Wyandotte on the corner. I always thought The Antlers looked awesome. Great character - love the porches. The neighborhood has its ups/downs - There seemed to be some good folks on the block between Westport/39th. I'd like to hear your impress...

I'm encouraged kids were reading at all. According the KCMO school thread - most of them weren't really getting it anyway.

Didn't Shine Spa just move in to the existing building to the South? It looks like they have it in the rendering of this new building.

Re: OFFICIAL: Kansas City Mayoral Race

My polling place was pretty dead this AM - around 8:30. I vote at 620 E Armour - some church. This is actually my third pollling place in the past three elections. I'm not saying anyone is TRYING to disenfranchise the midtown voters, but I think they're doing a decent job anyway. Not to mention that...

Re: Popular Places to Eat Breakfast

But I'm really looking for a place with a regular crowd.
I'd stick with the diner options, then. I'm guess they have more "regular" crowds - Woodsweather, City Diner, Cascone's and Pocos would all be good bets.
