Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!

It’s not booked currently for that date, nothing announced anyway. I’m not sure what the prior attendance has been for games at Sprint/TMobile, maybe Independence is a better fit size-wise but I imagine Blues/Blackhawks will be a big draw for the hockey community here and even from those cities. May...

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!

https://www.nhl.com/blues/news/st-louis-blues-preseason-schedule-2021/c-325671160 STL Blues will play a preseason game against Chicago Blackhawks October 2nd in Independence. I think this is the first time a preseason game will be held there, several have been played at Sprint over the years. Odd ch...

Not sure how this came up in my youtube feed but Charles Miller from War is apparently from Olathe originally as stated in a recently posted Low Rider remaster.

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

Thanks for the reply. My wife is a big SKC fan and we watched the tournament when the men didn’t qualify for the Olympics, I didn’t realize they were U23. I like watching as background noise but obviously am not a superfan. I do remember going to a World Cup game at Foxboro stadium in 1994 (I had to...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

Is this the same US men’s team that didn’t qualify for the Olympics? Not being snarky, I’m not sure if there are different levels/teams etc. Curious how they’re ranked 20 while recently missing out on the Olympics

It could be a net positive if it shows spec works downtown. Looking for any glass half full here. This will be a great test for downtown spec space with notable long term uncertainty (like what % of WFH sticks long term). Hard to say what could happen but if it's not say 50%-75% leased up after com...

Re: Politics

I don't think there is much argument against her employer firing her or having that right. I just wonder why it's not applied equally across the board. What Pascal posted was far worse IMO. I don't think either one of them did anything offensive enough to deserve firing, but I'm not running a huge ...

My contact at Brinkmann says the crane is scheduled to come down first week of January. However, he is also optimistic the project will happen. Go figure.
I noticed the crane removal began today.

Watching Jimmy O Yang’s (Jin Yang in Silicon Valley) standup on Amazon. Does a bit ripping on KC “not being racist but act like a pack of giraffes ran by” when they see an Asian.

Pretty routine comedy based off Chinese stereotype jokes

Tough time to open, but they appear to have opened for can sales last week. Part of “brewer alley” with Double Shift and Border. I haven’t given them a try yet but will to offer some support.

Stigma may be associated with behavior before/after symptoms. People will judge each other if you spread it due to not taking no-contact seriously. I can see finger pointing and blaming people

Seriously. I don't know how anyone enjoys that patio anyway?
I figured it was so smokers could go out with their beer. I imagine the new tenant will want to keep it for this reason too.

I guess Anton’s diner concept didnt survive? I didn’t realize it closed. Edit: I should have read the article first... “Cascone’s closed in 2018 and its location was taken over by Anton Kotar last year for a brief-lived healthy diner place called Estelle’s Diner. It closed in late 2019 after being i...

Re: Various restaurants coming to City

Funny. I went to Streetcar a couple weeks ago and echo everything that’s been said about ambiance, food and beer price. I believe I got a Torn Label (I know it was a nearby/local taphouse beer), decided to go for the “large“ 23oz and had some sticker shock at the $10 price tag. I don’t know what the...

I will pipe in with Afterword. Im typically a beer drinker but enjoy cocktail as well. Green Lady was slammed a couple Fridays ago so we relocated to Afterword and had a great time due to atmosphere and drinks.

I also enjoy SoT which I’m surprised got only one mention...

Re: Downtown Tanners closing?

I stopped into the new(ish?) Broadway Grille and Sports tonight. I believe that is the current iterations name at least, the bartender did have a “beer 30” T-shirt on but I did not believe that was the name. Anyway, trying to not pre-judge the place it seems like it could be really successful if the...

Hopefully they market the hell out of it. No excuse for anyone living in KC to NOT check it out at some point. I love the Swope Park focus, hopefully this activates the park for more events (ethnic food fest is already great)

New signage up for Broadway Bistro on the outside of the building which looks nice. Also a banner up for an arcade on the second floor of the building. Anyone hear anything about this??
