Re: Nelson Atkins - Moving Forward
Why does US-56 even need to continue to US-71? Why not terminate it at I-35 in Kansas?

Seems moving a street would require city approval.

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?
I don't understand AMC. How far apart can they really be? Cents per month per subscriber? Unless AMC is demanding some ridiculous amount of money (and if so, Google should level with us about that), why have such an obvious reason for people to stay with TWC?

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?
I feel the gigabit is really overrated. Most use wifi anymore, and unless you have worked to maximize wifi setup, most are probably only getting 50-100 mbps over wifi. Still a lot faster than I had with TWC, but I never hardwire so never see the gigabit. The only thing I really notice is the faster ...

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?
$70 is steep for just internet, but together with the TV for $120, the package is competitive. However, I am disappointed that in close to a year, Google has made very few improvements to the TV service. I knew going in it was a new service, but expected them to be responsive to feedback and make mo...

Re: Statewide transportation sales tax coming in 2014
The reality is any heavy toll on trucks is going to drive up the price of food, so this might be a MORE progressive way to fund rebuilding our interstates. If the cost of transportation is not currently reflected in the price of food, why shouldn't it increase? Seems more fair than this sales tax o...

Re: Phase 2 Streetcar Funding
Why should average Missouri residents pay for an expanded I-70 every time they shop, yet the trucks that create the congestion and wear out the roads don't pay a cent? They shouldn't. You'r right a no vote isn't a yes for something else, it is a No on this bad plan. Don't vote yes just because a bet...

Re: Phase 2 Streetcar Funding
Dave, if you have a chance would you mind letting us know what "streetcar+" means? Although, I may have personally missed it in the forum. - north loop redux - katy trail connection to KCMO (rock island ROW) - KCATA operating and capital support ultimately, these are the reasons i was swa...

Re: Phase 2 Streetcar Funding
Unfortunate the streetcar is tied to this crappy proposal at all, but it is disappointing to see some streetcar supported swayed to a yes vote on 7. Hopefully enough will be smart enough to vote yes for streetcar and no on 7. This is just a terrible proposal. As much as I would like to see some of t...

Re: Google picks KCK/KCMO for ultra fast fiber network
Anyone able to get over 400Mbps on Windows hardwired? I have a modern Haswell/Core i7 based laptop that can get over 900Mbps on Linux but only 400 or so on Win8 - exact same hardware. Maybe it's poor Windows drivers for that laptop but I have yet to see any Windows computer get much over 400. I hav...

Will be interesting to see if they roll new boxes out to existing customers, as you technically own the hardware.

Murray's is obviously satisfied with their business as it is. Some business owners like to have days off. Murray's ice cream is so perfet as it is I don't want to see anything that could change that.

There are better buidings to be replaced than the Brookside shops. The south side of 63rd would be a better place for this.

Re: Google picks KCK/KCMO for ultra fast fiber network
I am not a big tv watcher and am pretty limited on movie watching at home. I have an issue though, with a continuing issue on GF television. It is the stutter in reception that occurs every few minutes. The screen freezes for a second and the sound pauses. Almost a buffering.... Is this noted by ot...

Re: Jimmy John's to open Drive-Thru restaurant at 9th & Broa
Interesting it is Jimmy John's causing this controversy. They obviously are able to integrate into a neighborhood like the store at 11th & Grand and the new store in Brookside. Such a disappointment they couldn't have done that here.

Re: Jimmy John's to open Drive-Thru restaurant at 9th & Broa
a sandwich shop is the leading edge of restaurants. to get one wanting to come into downtown where workers are supposedly moving away from is a huge vote of confidence so if I seem positive that KC's getting new retail interest inside downtown that's not polishing a turb. that's giving credit to th...
