Re: PittPA on marriage, marital finances, fidelity.

I think the issue of this ruling is not regarding "virginity" but the accommodation to Muslim Sharia law in secular matters.  If being a virgin was totally important to the man due to his faith and his requirements, I could understand it being "fraud". The question should be if t...

Re: New AMTRAK route between Kansas City and Oklahoma City

This article from the Oklahoman (OKC) shows that ridership heartland flyer between OKC and Fort Worth has increased 10% in the last six months. This a.m. I saw on TV that Continental Airlines is cutting back flights, employees, number of planes, etc. due to the increase in fuel costs.  Fares are goi...

I always liked the look of the First National Center, it reminds me of the old John Hancock Building in Boston.

Re: JOCO To Decide if Stilwell Will Become Incorporated

I corrected the spelling of the name, thank you, Cyclops.  I will remember the three L rule in the spelling! :P I am certain that a lot of this may have been spawned from the recent annexation OPK had on their southern border.   I almost bought a home in Stilwell a few years ago I have horses and th...

Re: Olathe and 3 closed Italian eateries

I agree, Olathe as a "whole" does not need another grocery store. The Dillon's on Santa Fe was hurt by the new Hy-Vee on 119th and Ridgeview, I am sure it would have really been hurt by the new Wal-Mart on Santa Fe and K7/Parker. I was surpised that Price Chopper located in the old Dillon'...

Re: Slavic Festival This Weekend in Sugar Creek MO

A large group of Slavic people settled around Sugar Creek in the 1910's and 1920's working at the Standard Oil Refinery.
The St. Cyril's Parish started the festival.
It is not quite like the Czech festivals in Texas (West and Ennis) but it is still a lot of fun.

Slavic Festival This Weekend in Sugar Creek MO

I have been going to this festival for several years.  I have always enjoyed it.  My daughter, her bf, and I will be there.  Being Czech and Russian, I love it.
It’s worth a trip, a lot of great food.

I would like to see them try and get like Albertsons,Ramey Price Cutter or so on Grocery Store to go in their that's wants to expand to the KC area. A Fast Food Chain,Department Store would good. Maybe an Updated Kansas Sampler also. Their's an Russell Stover,Deals and 7-11 across the street and do...

Re: Olathe and 3 closed Italian eateries

I thought the Hy-Vee at Blackbob and 151st got the go ahead around May 13th.  It will be on the SE intersections where the McDonalds and convenience store is, they will remain.
From what I understand, this is a new store, not a replacement.  It will be a lot like the one on Ridgeview and 119th.

JOCO To Decide if Stilwell Will Become Incorporated

I heard on the radio news it will be the fifth largest city in JOCO (not really that much against Olathe, OPK, Lenexa, and Shawnee). It will be the 21st municipality in JOCO if approved.
New compitetion for the metro.

Re: Harrah's Brawl

If there were truly 450 people involved with the brawl, as in actually all brawling, this news item would be on the headline of almost every major news channel/network and website as a headlining story. Outside of a few places, it seems that it is not mentioned anywhere else but our local media. Of ...

Re: Belgium Brewer Prepares to Bid for Anheuser-Busch

In this morning's London Times it sounds like InBev is going on with their preparation for financing of this possible "deal".  It sounds like the Busch family who is influential but only owning around four percent of the company is against it. InBev sounds like it is a big cost savings com...

Belgium Brewer Prepares to Bid for Anheuser-Busch

It sounds like another iconic American company will possibly taken over from a foreign firm (Belgium;s InBev). http://www.reuters.com/article/businessNews/idUSL0169236120080601 This a.m.'s St.Louis Post-Dispatch has an article on the possiblity of  losing the world headquarters in STL. http://www.st...

I use my debit card for most of my transactions.  The card I have has the same zero liability policy as my credit cards do and has all sorts of points cash or travel, etc. I often try to use cash to tip.  The server is not liable for the entire amount as it is on a cc/debit purchase.  Stick it when ...
