Re: Clay Chastain

I might even sign it if he'd stop with the ridiculous park stuff. PVP could use some loving, sure. But, removing all the roads and putting in a ferris wheel? Uhh, no. I thought PVP already had some loving going on?  Sorry couldn't resist. What about Chastain "preaching" the details? Unbel...

Re: Downtown Blue Springs - higher density and form based code?

Wow, that is progressive.  Lee's Summit could benefit from this concept.  There are a ton of duplexes out there that are vanilla in design.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They won a series.  Here they go acting up again.  It was a good series for them I guess, big win Tuesday and a tough one today.  Dare I say that next year has SOME optimism?

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This isn't about Tony Pena.  This is about the larger dynamic within our organization. When wasting time on converting horrible infielders to relief pitchers isn't a serious topic within this orgaization any longer the words Royals and relevent might start getting used in the same sentence around h...

Re: Tarantino's?

What's funny is that Tarantino's is only 1 block from Sprint Center's east entrance, yet gets no spillover.  Meanwhile  Zoo, which is the same distance from SC and in a way harder to get to, thrives whenever it's sports, rock, or country at SC.   It's like there's some sort of psychological barrier...

Re: OFFICIAL: The Falls (Bass Pro development)

That statement is only true if you believe that this piece of ground had to be developed.  Perhaps if Independence was landlocked and had no other property available for development, but it isn't.  There were other potential sites for Bass Pro, including large swaths of land along Noland Road that ...

Re: OFFICIAL: The Falls (Bass Pro development)

The point was that retail is moving from older non-subsidized shopping centers to newer subsidized centers.  In other words, the subsidies don't always bring in new business, they often just shift existing businesses from one location to another. This leaves behind a vacant buildings that then need...

Re: OFFICIAL: The Falls (Bass Pro development)

Hobby Lobbys tend to go into class C vacant big boxes.  Not massive "mixed use" developments funded with 75 million in public money.  They should have said no to this.  At the very least, Hobby Lobby could have filled one of the boxes in the nearly empty Hartman Heritage Center. This is n...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laughable.  And The Star called it "a major trade"

I hate to see Cortes go for something like this.  I'd rather have Gordon or Teahen play short.  Then again, I am no expert on how that would work.  But can't Mark Teahen do EVERYTHING?

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's definitely the best Panamanian-Chinese pitcher in Royals history. :P Did anyone see Pena Jr bat against Rodney or Zumaya Tuesday night?  It was quite comical.  3 pitch strike out.  He never had a chance at any pitch.  Let's not forget, he did pitch for us once last year.  Maybe the are going t...

Is this on Main or Walnut?  Isn't the Block building in between so this would have to be on Main?

Is it upscale or what?  Anyone know the pricing?

Okay, I'll shaddap with the questions

I think it was because of the STAR bonds that were used.  Some provision about having to continue construction once it had started?  I heard this secondhand though....maybe on here

I was onsite today.  It is not even close to being open, though progress is being made.  I'd say July 20th they could have some swimmers.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd rather see Banny as the #3, and Hoch as the 4 man.  Thats easy to say now, certainly fair weather of you.  They were both(Bann/Hoch) not ready to start out the year here, and DM made the right move sending them to Omaha.  Davies has had a couple of rough outings, but nothing to say that he is...

Good to see them show some fight in todays game after laying down Friday and Saturday.  John Buck brought some spark, and who would have guessed that the Brayan Pena would be our savior? It looks like Soria is gonna throw that curve ball for the last pitch of the game every time now! the batter KNEW...
