Re: Misc Crossroads News
The hot chicken sandwich from...Nashville Hot Chicken is decent; I'd order it again. The wings from Mr Wingz...not so much. The only other concept I can speak to is Old Shawnee Pizza - the people I've talked to who've had it both there and at one of their actual locations didn't think it tasted any ...

Re: Sporting Kansas City
Never underestimate MLS' ineptness in broadcast scheduling.
Sunday's game will also be on FS1/Fox Deportes.

Re: Sporting Kansas City
Children's Mercy Park is now the third-smallest MLS stadium (only Colorado and San Jose play in smaller venues); the median capacity for MLS stadiums is 22K. In any case, while somehow winning the MLS Cup this year is still wildly unrealistic, knocking St. Louis out in the first round would be more ...

Saw some workers inside the old Reiger space this week. Is something moving in there or just general maintenance? The old Rieger space at 1924 Main has a remodel application on Compass for a new restaurant called "Wise Guy". Applicant is Ashley May. https://compasskc.kcmo.org/EnerGov_Prod...

Re: Misc Crossroads News
Speaking of...we ordered pickup from the Crossroads Food Stop ghost kitchen on Friday. I hadn't realized there are (nominally, not all of them are currently operating) *18* concepts available there. Going in there as a non-delivery driver is also a bit unnerving, as the pickup process is set up to m...

Re: Power and Light District Official Tenant List
Can someone identify which spaces these are going into downtown? Don’t remember the Mixx there The Mixx space was just south of the H&R Block tower (in the same building as Protein House, Insomnia Cookies, and the sushi place that closed) and faced the courtyard, and the Saucer was on the south...

Re: Power and Light District Official Tenant List
That article swaps the street addresses of where Saucer and Mixx were and has the relative sizes of the spaces wrong as well.
Based on the menus of both, I'm guessing that HomeGrown is going where Saucer was and Modern Market will be in the Mixx space.

Ugh...just got this from Mainvest: "We have been made aware about a lawsuit involving a business in your portfolio, Manaia Collective, in Kansas City, MO. This is obviously extremely concerning, and even more concerning that neither investors nor the Mainvest team were made aware prior to a new...

Re: Sporting Kansas City
I was at the game last night. St. Louis did a very nice job with the stadium; having a second level and a more substantial roof helps a lot with keeping in the crowd noise and making it feel bigger than it actually is. The trolling also extended to the gameday emails I received - lots of “St. Louis ...

Re: Clayton, MO CBD Boom (Centene, etc)
So, uh...if you're the benevolent(?) dictator of a major city, how you bring them up your standard? I'd love to hear your detailed plans as how individual city governments can solve national-level structural problems that are something other than "using police power to keep the poors out/in the...

Re: Misc Crossroads News
Bad news: Kyle Gardner pulled out of the project a few months ago and most of the former Rieger cooks/servers/bartenders who were still hoping to come back after the new places opened had given up hope that it would happen. The Mainvest funding page hasn't had an update since January and all that's ...

Noticed this in passing in today's Midtown KC Now email - this year's PorchFest is October 14 and is being held in the Roanoke and Valentine neighborhoods.

The Gillham/Pershing/25th cluster seems like a no-brainer for a roundabout...and while we're at it, there's no real reason for Pershing to be a divided street past McGee, either.

The Levy, Aines Dairy, and NortPoint/Park Reserve projects were all brought up at last night's Union Hill neighborhood association meeting. While nothing new (at least to anyone on here) was mentioned, it was pointed out that there will be a total of 586 new apartments along/near 31st between Baltim...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
Both the Copa América and Club World Cup are higher-profile events than the CONCACAF Gold Cup is. The 2016 Copa América was also held in the US and used large-capacity venues then as well.
