Re: Sprint sale rumors again
According to the Star, the new CEO will move to KC area, which is better sign than going to the new innovation center in Bay Area but still would set expectations that corp HQ eventually leaves. Any chance that this new, younger CEO moves into downtown and pushes for better company connection to th...

Re: Bannister Mall/Cerner
One last thing: The elephant in the room. Nobody wants to talk about it, but let's face it..Cerner is a company. Who's to say that they're relevant (Or even exist) in the time needed for the taxpayers to break even on this project (20+ years)? All those tax abatement's and public funds being used.....

Re: We need a new airport!!!
Our flight options have nearly halved over the last few years. Probably more than halved if you factor for the reduction in capacity from much smaller planes serving the airport. Yet people are seriously arguing that there are plenty of options and suggesting its just whining to complain about our ...

Re: KC invited to bid for GOP National Convention
The DNC has announced its "5 cities" list. They are: Cleveland, Ohio Columbus, Ohio New York, New York Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Phoenix, Arizona Perhaps the 2 Ohio cities will help the RNC rule out Cleveland. I'm not sure what the benefit would be to having the RNC choose Denver, so tha...

But the SEC - it's Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, South Carolina - I'm sorry but that's just not the direction I want Missouri headed. I'm much more interested in being a little more progressive or at least neutral rather than just backwards. At the same time, not everyone in the state ...

Re: We need a new airport!!!
I was in Toronto last night and was surprised to see there was a direct flight to KCI from Toronto's international airport and also Air Canada hub. The setup was pretty interesting, I was returning from a trip to Germany and cleared customs in Toronto which had a fully staffed US customs/passport c...

Re: proposed Valentine QuickTrip
Is there such a thing as an urban QT? Gas pumps out back? I doubt they care a lick about urban/midtown business. This is 100% about capturing the northland to plaza auto commuters. depends on which part of QT you care about. the gas part is very suburban car driver. they even offer free air the con...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)
It seemed like the newer location made this a bit invisible and off the beaten path. Kind of killed any chance of the out of town plaza traffic wandering in and limited business to established customers. If they could have gone into the Mark Shale space, maybe they would have had better luck findin...

Re: Toyota moving jobs from CA to Texas
Softbank may not decide on what to do with Sprint HQ until they get an idea on potential Tmobile merger down the road. Sounds like the Feds essentially won't allow a merger in the next year or two but if one of them go way down hill in next few years, there's a good chance they'll merge. If that ha...

Re: Toyota moving jobs from CA to Texas
I expect Sprint to move to Dallas before Silicon Valley, DFW has direct flights to Japan So does San Jose. but not the extreme tax breaks like Toyota will be getting from Gov Goodhair, Sprint is more likely to keep the HQ here than move it to high tax CA, Brownback will give them an extreme tax bre...
