Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At least it could be more like college. Since pro offenses are better, maybe give them the ball at the 50 yard line, and let them try to match each other. It would be pretty exciting.

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?
To move 10,000 people in 60 minutes takes 20 trains departing every 60 seconds. Streetcar service wouldn't be designed with the purpose or capability of moving an entire stadium worth of people from downtown. That wouldn't make sense anyhow. It would connect the district, though, during all of the ...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?
I'd put it in the West Bottoms close to Hy Vee Arena, with one side of the stadium in Kansas and the other in Missouri (hello bi-state tax). Parking space can be found/already exists and can be purchased or borrowed from Hy Vee Arena with the possibility of a streetcar spur over time. Offices can be...

Re: OFFICIAL - Crossroads Hotel (2107 Central)
Is lazia really going to be closed Monday to Wednesday or is this just as they start up? If they eventually plan to add more nights, very few will notice now that their first encounter with the restaurant shows Thurs. through Sun. Fortunately they are in a hotel, so maybe it's different than with a...

Re: The Official Kansas City Weather Thread
So, 3 days of school closings for 5 inches of snow? I don't care what type of snow or ice mix there is. This was embarrassing for the city among so many other things they are doing an amazing job of.

By the way, the video background on this version of the website:

...is pretty hilarious. Wait for it, and find out how a carafe of wine fits into a single glass.

Also, what kind of proximal investment does a painted line attract vs. a fixed rail when the lines can be repainted a few blocks away or erased very cheaply?smh wrote: ↑Tue Oct 30, 2018 2:44 pmPoorly.flyingember wrote: ↑Tue Oct 30, 2018 2:37 pm How does a system that relies on painted lines operate in the winter?

That said, I think old and establishment would be a mistake vs. Trump in 2020. You have to get some of the middle grounders excited about a new direction.

Re: STL MLS proposal resurrection
I could also see the STL ownership wanting to be in the Eastern conference since STL has always considered itself part of the "East." From interactions I've had, there is an aversion to being considered anything in relation to the West other than the gateway to it. They will probably claim...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar
Not trying to hijack the thread, but every time I see the beautiful interior of the Mainstreet theater I get depressed that hometown team AMC absolutely nailed the renovation, then sold it, and left downtown. And Alamo moved right in, changing hardly anything, with a lower-rent experience. That sai...

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!
STL is such a soccer town, it's hard to believe they haven't gotten a team yet. I would like to be in same conference as a STL MLS team so we can have a natural geographic rival, but I'm guessing they'd be eastern conference. Tough competition for those last two spots - Detroit, San Diego, Phoenix ...

Can we at least take a minute before talking about the political ramifications of an, obviuously, very tough decision by Jason? This is an unprecedented (or very unusual) action for a huge front-runner to pull out of a campaign. I'm not going to even pretend I can understand the challenges of someo...

Re: Parlor - 1707 Locust
I admire what they are trying to do, and while it isn't "cheap," I didn't find the prices too insulting. Inflation still happens, and if fast food chains like Shake Shack are charging $10+/meal, I don't think these prices are crazy considering they are aiming for a way more unique experien...

Re: American Royal BBQ
I went by one year on a Saturday to see it, they didn't ticket every entrance for some reason. It was absolutely dead. Not even parties going on. There was so much room to actually have something going on. One entire parking garage in the area was empty so it's not like they were short of parking. ...
