Re: Union Station
Renderings refer to the "Science Center." Is this any indication that they're going to abandon "Science City" and rebrand as something more appropriate for a real, substantial science exhibit?

Re: 2012 CHIEFS!
So the Andy Reid!!!!! of conference championships, etc., is not the Andy Reid of the last few years. Carry on. The question is whether Chiefs fans could/should be happy with Reid as our next head coach. I think it's ridiculous to say NO, because Reid hasn't won any conference championships in the l...

Re: 2012 CHIEFS!
Andy Reid's first 7-8 seasons were great. I'd happily take him if he brought the 2000-2004 Eagles team with him. First of all, you can chalk up any great coach's success to people other than themselves. Dungee had Manning, Belichek has Brady, Coughlin has Manning and sick defenses, Sean Payton has ...

Re: 2012 CHIEFS!
Big, huge NO on Andy Reid. Ever. Great point - well reasoned. Why on earth would we want a head coach who has only finished 3 times out of 14 under .500 and been to more conference championships in that time than we have in our franchise history. Would absolutely take Andy Reid. And Mike Vick too, ...

Re: TIME TO FREAK OUT AGAIN ABOUT CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT! TH
What's the point in keeping conferences at all? Good question. I'd guess branding is a big part of it. trophies. tradition. scheduling/travel. NCAA is as powerful as pro sports b/c fans love the tradition and the rivalries. without conferences, there would be no tradition or rivalry. playing the sa...

If OKJoes moved to the Plaza and errected a gas station facade, people would take issue. good food notwithstanding.flyingember wrote:

Re: 2012-2013 Big 12 College Football
I think the "body of work" is important so that flash in the pan players don't win this, the most prestiguous award in sports. A freshman might not put up the same numbers as an upperclassman when teams have a year's worth of game tape to study. It's a testament to those players that can ...

Re: 2012-2013 Big 12 College Football
Klein with a good performance. not sure if it's enough for the Heisman. few thoughts. LB shouldn't get the award, IMO. Just very difficult to quantify, statistically or otherwise, the impact that such player can have. With a QB or RB, on the other hand, games are won or lost on their shoulders. It s...

Re: TIME TO FREAK OUT AGAIN ABOUT CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT! TH
That was reassuring in that article to see that figure of $20 mil/school. I'd say we're in good shape, and Texas/OU would be stupid to bolt to the PAC. True, but OU and UT would still get to share equally in the PAC revenue, if invited. the Conference, on the other hand, would be quite stupid to ad...

Re: Blanc Burgers & Bottles
Also, gotta say, there is a lot of nostalgia about FleaMarket burgers, but they simply aren't as good as Blanc. Far too greasy to be taken seriously.
Hell, IMO, Winsteads burgers are far better than FM.

Re: Pickwick Plaza (10th and McGee) Put Up For Sale; Market
Any retail in EV is light years away, IMO. The CBD and Xroads are replete with surface lots because commercial developers don't see the demand, apparently. Cordish hasn't developed but 10% of its retail over the last several years, because there's no demand. Though it would be nice to see some new d...

Re: 2012-2013 Big 12 College Football
In fact, I seem to remember a time in the not-too-distant past when a #1 MU team choked vs. OU when faced with a one-game shot to play in the national title. KSU ruined a natinal title shot in 2003, etc. It happens both ways. For the record, OU still played for the NC after the KSU loss in 2003.

I just don't buy the idea that we should give him preferential treatment because he's been there the longest. I'm not a leasing agent. But, it's called 'loyalty' in my book. if he's been a staple tenant who's paid his rent in good/bad times in the Arcade, act in good faith and don't put a coffee sh...

Re: Aixois opening in Commerce Arcade
Lunch is always crowded. Wasn't surprised about breakfast not working there. Dinner will always be fairly marginal, IMO. They really need to capture up a catering niche. Regarding coffee, the guy in the arcade is not a "crappy office coffee kiosk." Fact is, this guy has been selling coffee...
