We really need to stop accepting this sort of thing as a reality and start taking these problems apart.

Re: Front Street to become "sustainable roadway"

It's is still beyond my as to why we want to make that nasty drainage ditch of a river a focal point of anything. It's the back alley of KC and should be treated that way. Woah woah woah there. I happen to enjoy the river, as do thousands of my neighbors and thousands of communities up and down riv...

I kind of echo everyone's points here, but I could not stop saying to my friends that I met up with from a different city about how in Kansas City (which like I said, seems related, but at the same time much more interesting than) this or that, though, and I really hate doing the bash the city you ...

Re: North Kansas City

With the new bike/ped bridge on the HOA, NKC becomes an even better amenity for downtowners. A quick ride across the river and you've got a whole other world of bars, restaurants and retail. This is a welcome addition! I hope, despite its freeway location, that it'll be pleasantly scaled.

Re: UFL football has found fans in Omaha

Was that a UNO Mavericks sticker, or one for the Missouri Mavericks (the team playing in Independence)? http://www.missourimavericks.com/ That occurred to me right after I posted. I'm not sure, actually. I assumed it wasn't the new team in Indy because all of the other logos were old and hadn't bee...

And any (albeit unlikely) football stadium expansion would likely come on the universities south campus (specifically, south of Center Street, for anyone familiar with the area).  More likely is the addition of a new hockey arena for the most widely followed Maverick sport... men's hockey. Anecdota...

* The one exception I'll concede to is that once I began to wrap my head around the whole dying thing, I went through a period of intellectually wanting to believe the Christ story, and while I never really felt like it was real, I wished I could. I tried pretty hard for a little while, eventually ...

I've always considered myself pretty strong on this topic but I'm blown away by the quality of this thread. I don't have a lot to add but I'm enjoying this immensely and wanted to thank all of you for contributing to such a civil and thoughtful discussion on a difficult topic.

I've now had my EVO for a couple of weeks, and I'd like to find out what people have had the best luck with battery usage-wise.  I've heard/read raging debates on whether or not to use task killing apps.  Does anyone use them, and if so, which ones?  What built-in or shipped with phone apps/service...

I had a chicken schwarma omlette for breakfast the other day. Schwarma meat with onions, tomato and feta cheese. It was fantastic. I want to eat another one right now.

I wonder how much he will get paid.  Is it enough to skip a free ride to college?  From the paltry salaries I've heard they give the bench players, it would have to be a pretty good signing bonus. He doesn't lose his eligibility since he will be a Generation Adidas player. He can still go to school...

Re: 2010 Kansas City Wizards

Belvedere Park is that odd wedge of land between I-35, Paseo and Independence Ave. It is hidden a bit because it is sunken from the land facing Indy Ave. There are already two sets of full goals and some mini goals down there. We've taken a look at it for Tuesday downtown soccer but it isn't in the ...

I went to this place, too, and was told I needed 5 onlays at $1,500 a pop.  I was pretty stressed about the whole thing until I went to another dentist and he said I just needed an old metal filling replaced. I found this at the Missouri Dental Board and am in the process fo filling everything out ...

Re: Insurance-free Dentists

The dentist office in the Commerce Arcade is notorius for this practice.   Several people I know have been there, as have I, and in every case they'll find something like 8-10 cavities and nearly all of them "require" root canals.    Only one person I know has fallen for it hook-line-and-...
