Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Why isn't there a concentrated push to counter misperceptions about parking? One person's perceptions is their reality. And that reality is hard to fight. Right now in the news the woman's soccer team is going to charge $50 to park in their lot. People see that and are wondering what parking costs ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

It's funny about the Feds concerns about safety. I know times are different now but I remember there was a post office in the building open to the public. Commercial businesses were at street level on the south side (one was a jeweler I knew). The public could come in and eat a cheap lunch at the ca...

I'm not even talking about land acquisition being in the top three reasons EV was and is out.
I might have missed it but why was East Village eliminated as a site? Afterall it was one of the two choices remaining when the team eliminated a few others.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Another take: PICTURED IS FENWAY PARK in Boston where I lived for a couple years before returning to KC. I developed a genuine affection for Fenway and the Red Socks (‘’Yay Yastremski ! ! !’’) and from a distance kept periodic tabs with what was happening with the grand old gal. In 1999 Earl Santee ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

is KC Tennants powerful enough to kill this project? Yes* Only if they're able to turn out enough non-voters to offset the millions to be spent by the teams. This is quite different than a council campaign, which I believe is the only claim they've made about electoral success? There is also a larg...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

One person's viewpoint on the sales tax. And this is not from an anti-stadium Facebook page, just a general KC page. Personally I really don't care if they put a stadium downtown or not. However IMO the best location would be the East Village. That land has more or less been set aside for a stadium....

Another shot in the dark. An option for the Royals in eastern Jackson County. Just may be an added reason for that part of the county to vote no in April. https://www.kmbc.com/article/independence-missouri-city-leaders-want-to-host-new-kansas-city-royals-stadium/46688064?utm_medium=email&utm_cam...

See where Germany has chosen the KC area to be its home base during the World Cup. Activities will be on both sides of the state line.

An interesting article. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/thousands-of-u-s-cities-could-become-virtual-ghost-towns-by-2100/ "The Urban U.S. could look very different in the year 2100, in part because thousands of cities might be rendered virtual ghost towns. According to findings publi...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

Nah, Ticketmaster is just that easy to get around for bots to just grab. You can't "underprice" tickets when you brag about wanting it to be affordable. They've made their bed & they're ready to sleep in it without a good majority of their fanbase. Going to be interesting to see how t...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

Seriously doubt a roof is in the plans for Arrowhead. Maybe if a new stadium is built in 25 years that will be a different story. Was the weather a factor in the game? Yes, it was a factor for both teams but it didn't affect the final outcome of the game. Yes, the Chiefs hadn't been playing their be...

Ok. The President was in worse shape and abandoned. The Muehlebach is in better condition and the bottom floor is used. You say that is apples to oranges, which, sure, could be true, but what point are you making by saying they're different. Are you saying the Muehlebach can't be restored because i...

Re: Fantasy Retrofits: Barney Allis Plaza

Of course it was many decades, a short time after closing, ago but as I remember it to put the old hotel into usable condition, without room size modifications, was at a prohibitive cost. Even modernizing to hotel rooms to then current standards would have complicated the remodel and again a prohibi...
