Re: Favorite KC Bar?

Hey Staubio - What's up with the NV patio? I'm not much of a club-type-of-guy -- but that deck looks awesome. Is there an afterwork/happy hour crowd that precedes the club scene rolling in? By the way - I'll go with: McCoy's Harlings Harry's CC Grinders Chez Charlie's Record Bar Twin City Davey's Th...

Thanks Max.

Matsu's is the Japanese/Sushi place a few doors down.

Moving forward, all businesses on that street will have to rhyme with each other.

Tatsu's Cafe & Bar (Toasters)

Saw this weekend that the Toasters awning in Westport has been changed to read "Tatsus Cafe and Bar" (or "Bar & Cafe"). Tatsu (of Tatsu's high end French restaurant in Prairie Village) had started Toasters, but it looks like he might be going down a different road now. Anyone...

Re: Idiots

I wish there were places where adults like me, who are mature and who do not drink alcohol, could just hang out. Unfortunately too many in our society think alcohol is needed to have fun. To me that is just pathetic. I think it's pretty pathetic to judge society based on your perceptions of alcohol...

Re: KC in TV and Movies

Not sure if it has been mentioned here (couldn't find it in a search), but I just watched the "experimental" documentary Das Bus on the Sundance Channel - and it was one of the weirdest things I've seen. Anyone who spends any time on this forum should really try and catch some of this. It ...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We haven't been to the playoffs since Dinkinger's call in game 6 0f '85!!
Yeah, but we won that game and the next. The Cards haven't won a WS since the call.

Denkinger's name should be exalted by all Royals' fans. He should have his number up with Brett/Howser/White on the scoreboard.

Re: beer.

For those that do enjoy the Skinny Dip (and have forgiven New Belgium for the transgression of eliminating Loft) - it's on tap at both The Record Bar and Dark Horse Tavern.

Also tried the Delerium Tremens on tap at Grinders. Lovely beer - but beware - it's $7/Pint. Not sure if it was THAT good.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still have fun at the games. Why should I deprive myself of the enjoyment I get from attending games in order to dish out some sort of perceived punishment on an owner that doesn't care what I think? They're not worth listening to on the radio or watching on TV - but going to the K is still a damn...

Re: DWI, DUI

There could be a high concentration of Northlanders in that 500+ cars - just based on the location. And didn't the Northland have a checkpoint that netted somewhere around 25% DUI's?

Not sure if there is a correlation with the success rates or not.

Re: MIZZOU: Anderson hiring NOT a "Home Run"

You don't sign an LOI with a coach, you sign it with a University. While technically correct, I think it's naive to think that a player doesn't factor in the coach of a school moreso than the school itself. And rightfully so. Players choose schools because of coaches - their success, their systems,...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

l like Bulldog. It's a little higher-end than Harry's or McCoy's, but I really like the bar. They have a ton of great flatscreens - and some of the employees even know how to change the channels (but most don't). The food is average to good. And, of course, if you can time your visit right, you can ...

45th/Madison

They have torn the entire facade off the building that sits at 45th/Madison on the west side of the street (facing the new condos - just north of Bernstein Rein). It's a four story that used to have a nondescript white facade and now has no facade.

Anyone know what they're planning?

Re: Anyone live near Southwest Trafficway?

I live on 37th st. between the Trafficway and Jefferson (closer to the Trafficway, really). I've been there for over 5 years and never had a problem with the noise.

Love the neighborhood - can walk to Uptown, Westport, 39th St and Plaza - all with ease. Not to mention the museums, etc.

Re: Royals highlighted on ESPN.com Page 2

Royals have been swept in 4 of their 5 series so far this season. JackO must be proud. Yeah, but we won the 5th series! It's usually the end of June before we win a series - so in many ways, we're ahead of schedule. And admit it - you would never count a two-game series as legit "Sweep" i...

Re: Brunch at the Peanut: French Toast

I enjoy the eggs bendedict as well. It's a runnier/more liquid hollindaise sauce and the english muffin just soaks it up. Good to know about the French Toast.

Anyone had the Spicy Eggs? I think that would complete the review of The Peanut Brunch.

i thought town topic was better hangover grub? Close call for my tastes. Now that Woodswether moved, I like the atmosphere a little better - it's bigger. Didn't see it mentioned, but The Diner at 3rd & Grand does good breakfast. And, I believe they serve it all day.

Woodswether has to win for best overall hangover-type breakfast.
