Re: Talk of anchoring Big 12 championships
But the schools do, and OKC has two of the votes necessary. Therein lies the problem for Kansas City. The two Oklahoma schools have, for whatever reasons, decided to cast their lots with the 4 schools in Texas. That at minimum gets them a 50-50 split when it comes to any votes. They voted to mo...

He's quoted in WSPanic's message that I responded to. Your failed "zinger" reminds me of the time Costanza flew all the way to Cleveland to zing that guy, then failed miserably.kcdcchef wrote: if you have him on ignore, how are you reading it?

This is pretty funny - guy comes on demanding a ban, then finds out to his dismay that the sword cuts both ways.WSPanic wrote: I agree. Please suspend/ban Im2kull. He's been killing this place the last few weeks.

Re: Talk of anchoring Big 12 championships
OKC isn't going to agree to keep baseball in exchange for the Hoops Tourney, the latter draws far more fans/media attention/dollars (millions more dollars) than the baseball deal does. It may anchor in KC but over strong objections from Okie.

They should- OU collapsed down the stretch, losing to Tech and Baylor shouldn't do KU any favors. I really don't see how any of them could be higher than a four seed, three at the highest. Nice faceplant. I enjoy reading your takes on the sports board - always guaranteed to be 100% incorrect. An...

Re: NCAA tournament at Sprint Center
OU & MEM will bring crowds. In San Antonio, there were tons of Memphis fans (diff venue obv) which was impressive given their smallish size - 12K enrollment. They are a big deal in Memphis. KC is happy. They dind't want KU/MU here because they want travelers. All I'd do is drive down for din...

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!
Ok, I'm laughing at my computer reading Indy's paper worrying about the Pacers moving to KC. A basketball-mad state with a new DT arena only a few years old is going to up & move to KC? Seriously, that's really funny.

Re: Big 12 Basketball 2008
Oh yeah... I got the previous year mixed up. And you'd be wrong, since Kansas won the 2007 regular season outright. Anyway... KU losing in Austin further proves my point! KU was able to play on a neutral (as neutral as 40 minutes from your campus can be) and win the conference tournament. Last ...

Re: Big 12 Basketball 2008
Take last year for example. KU and UT tied for the confernece championship. Although KU beat UT during the regular season you could argue that KU benefited a) from an imbalanced schedule and b) getting UT at home. I would say winning the conference tournament (over UT nonetheless) was more impor...

Re: Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resort
If the park is ever going to become more than a small/average sized waterpark, than they will have to issue the 225 million in STAR bonds. They can’t right now because the economy tanked. Whoa, hang on there. If they haven't issued the 225M, then the taxpayer isn't on the hook for anything yet. A...

Re: Big 12 Basketball 2008
You dork, the tourney doesn't mean a whole lot for teams that are a lock to make the big dance. But I know you and your MU brethren don't know much about being locks for the tourney. That conference tourney is usually your only ticket to the post season. Kansas haters have waited 3 long years to ...

Re: TSC Renovations
That's my argument - the economy would dictate lower sales. Why the Royals couldn't see this, when nearly every other team did, is beyond me. You claim the renovations will help the Royals from worse attendance. I disagree. The cost of tix being hiked 20% in the past 2 years will outweigh any &qu...

Re: Kansas City May Lose Chiefs, Royals to Budget Deficit
This is political suicide. The $2 million cut is already an unpopular move. Do you have evidence to back that? Not saying you're wrong, but I haven't seen any polling on this and I'm not going to trust Kevin Kietzman or his callers on the topic. Most sports renovation votes fail in most cities,...

I enjoy the fact that my prediction ended up being 100% correct, yet you're still arguing today (like in that thread) that the tix prices are fair. Despite the evidence clearly showing that KC-ians disagree with you and Glass.

what exactly have you called exactly? i mean, shit, there are almost 7 months between now and end of season. what have you called? royals season tickets have been going down for 15 years. season tickets do = better attendance numbers, but the royals will no doubt see a spike in walk up and single g...

Boy, did I call that or what? But I was promised that the renovations would create more attendance! The 10% price hikes be damned.

Maybe JLB is right - Kansas fans will never recover from this game today.
In all seriousness, the tourney is really interesting now. I still think OU will win since they have the best team. But with KU out, it's really opened up.
