Now if we could get the AT&T Longlines Building covered in flashing billboards, we'd have something.

Re: I-670 bridges beautification
I must admit I'm not very impressed either. I think with the vandalism that occurs in the area, that glass was a bad choice for this project. I have a feeling that the panels will be attacked time and again and eventually have to be taken down or replaced with something more durable.

Re: P&L District: 13th & Walnut Site Proposal
Shark Bar has a cocktail lounge and a restaurant. Yes, it would be competition for Peach Tree, but they might be able to coexist if they emphasized different entrees on their menus. Shark Bar is more of an evening out upscale type of place; whereas Peach Tree might emphasize breakfast and lunch f...

Re: Downtown Report Card
I liked Cauthen mentioning the DST parcel next to Case Park as a site for new residential development. I think it's a great site with a lot of potential. Like I've said before, Quality Hill is not finished and development still needs to occur here as well. It's downtown's most developed neighborh...

The buildings in the affordable housing portion of New Quality Hill had tax credits that lasted for 15 years. They have expired and now the apartments are undergoing a conversion to condos.

There is a Shark Bar in NYC on Amsterdam Avenue that has the best soul food and southern cooking. They serve some of the best catfish I've had. It's been a popular restaurant for years. I could only dream that it's the same outfit and they are opening a branch in KC. Yummy. It would be a most we...

Likewise, perhaps I might laugh in your face if Obama beats McCain. I'd wager there are plenty of Republicans that don't like Bush and wouldn't vote for him again. Although, despite the winner, I'd say we hold off on laughing in anyone's face because the next president is going to have their hands f...

Yeah, like North Korea. Let's have a wacky foreign policy where it's okay to talk with one crazy dictator and not okay to talk to another. Oh, and why don't we talk with another terrorist Islamic regime, Libya? Oh wait, we've already done that. They gave up their nuclear ambitions already. I get ...

I agree with Loftguy. I grew up in the 6th and that commercial is aimed at the rural counties outside of St. Joseph and Kansas City. Some residents don't even know what a liberal is, but they know they hate them.

Re: Sam Graves TV Commercial
Sam Graves is a nasty political fighter who will stop at nothing to keep his seat. I would only expect him to use the worst politican smear attacks he can conjure up. I hope he loses. He's scared to death of a race with Kay Barnes because he might very well lose. One of his silliest legacies; he p...
