that city museum thing in STL does look cool. Never been there but sure does seem to be very popular and not only with kids. I applaud that little attraction.

someone else mentioned this but let the retailers have some control over the streetscape in the fronts of their stores. That could help make the area feel unique. I'm sure I'll have others.
Oh, fountains, make sure there are some unique fountains.

Not even close...as CC commented. Good article though, interesting to see what other cities are doing.aknowledgeableperson wrote:The article said they have only 800 new residences in downtown in the last four years but doesn't their total of 5,600 exceeds KC?

Nothing new. Hell I think it was the same songs in the same order. Come on, expand it to another building or change up something. Oh and quit printing and handing out those stupid flashing buttons, they are worthless in my opinion. I still like the 12Wyandotte building with it's light cannons shooin...

yeah we're looking for seperate eating and drinking places. Hyatt just seems very old school.
Skies is having their own thing, it runs $300/person that includes a room. ~$200/person w/o a room.

Don't need fountains shooting water up into the air because on a windy day the patrons will get wet from the wind spray. A cascading fountain would be nice though. In the middle you don't want anything to attract people to since that could cause some safety concerns. You could have some art work th...

I think the casinos may have privately helped pay for those buses in Vegas.
Oh I think transit has a future in KC but just because certain cities have it doesn't mean we should automatically just get it to keep up. If it doesn't work for KC, why do it?

I don't think it is....I called the other night and no answer but their website is still active.
They had anti-eminent domain signs on their windows so they are probably pouting.

Well I assume they would just replace the center scoreboard with a video board one. It's pretty standard..hell even KSU has one and we SUCK. Just surprised me when I went to the phog the first time and didn't see one with the program being so successful.
Is fresh paint also tacky?

My point is that as Town Center becomes more and more like every other crappy strip mall, That's kind of what I was getting at by asking Jayhawk what he went down there for...I just don't see what's there drawing me that I mostly can't get in ZR and a few plaza stores. When Gaylan's left, TCP died ...

CC...I'd say that would be the buildings facing a new Truman Blvd. if it were to ever come to light. I'd say there would just be wide medians on each side of the actual road. Linear park style. I wanted to see some more detail about the high tech aspects...like the video screens, the five, 60-foot t...

all of those cities needed rail more than we do. Rail would be nice to have but in KC right now with our millions of miles of highways it is not needed....it's expensive and would be underused due to people being able to drive to work faster than rail could deliver them.

I prefer they wait on all this housing to make sure the market is there. No reason to saturate the market. We've got a good stock of housing going, good to have plans for more but dumping all these on the market at once would have a poor affect on everybody.
