Re: American Royal leaders propose tearing down Kemper
Why exactly does the AR want to demolish Kemper? Can they not host a rodeo or any other event in Kemper? Come on, the place has hosted almost anything and everything over the last 40 years! NBA, NHL, AFL, The Final Four, Concerts, The Circus, and yes...even the American Royal! In fact, it STILL hos...
It's not unusual for blue states to have areas that are fairly conservative. Michigan certainly does, and upstate New York can be conservative. Often it does come down to rural versus urban.
downstate IL is fairly conservative, but doesn't have enough population to offset Chicago, t...

Re: Kansas to allow businesses to elect not to serve gay cou
Putting aside for a moment the bill's basic hatefulness, I wonder how these legislators--most of whom probably claim they're pro-business--think this is going to attract new industry or innovation to the state. I've been selling KC hard to a San Diego friend as a great place to launch her startup, ...

Kansas isn't the most conservative state, but probably one of the states most loyal to the Republican party, people in KS automatically vote Republican and Democrats don't even run a candidate in many electionsgrovester wrote:Those places aren't full of extremists, but the GOP in those areas are.

Re: Swagger (8431 Wornall) -- gourmet dive bar
Swagger was really pretty good in the beginning. Anyone know what happened? The last time I went, the food was not good but I figured that was an outlier. Guess it was a trend instead. That's too bad. They could have accomplished a television first: First restaurant appearing on DDD to get bailed o...

They would never build it if they didn't have a team of engineers with lawyer backing. Expect one death per decade at the extreme end. Injury I'll give. But mainly scrapes and bruises with the rare broken bone. The staff for these rides are good at maintaining ride discipline. Radios can mean you g...

Re: OFFICIAL: Zona Rosa (tenants & phase II)
Zona Rosa is certainly primed to grow into a vibrant neighborhood, but it needs plenty still. Most importantly it needs more housing. Once this happens then hopefully more neighborhood joints will open up. The center is actually integrated into the surrounding neighborhood reasonably well, and if d...
