Re: Downtown office vacancy
Missing out on 900 Starbucks jobs is such a loss. It’s that kind of attention (from global mega brands) that would really light a fire on the downtown office market. I know 900 jobs isn’t wild, but perhaps it would convince local employers to consider DT (e.g. Cerner). A company like Starbucks would...

Re: OFFICIAL - ARTerra (21st and Wyandotte)
Looks better than I thought but is still really weak. I’m still in the boat of any new housing project downtown is a win but slowly raising the bar about what we should call acceptable. This project looks a lot different than the renderings. The goal in my mind is to get DTKCMO’s population to 50k A...

I love this project. It could be taller and have less parking but it will bring ~500 residents downtown along with ground floor retail. I wonder if this project could secure another CVS/bodega/grocer.

Re: 2018 Downtown Reports
As long as occupancy rates are 95%+ there should be no reason not to keep building. Demand is clearly there -- as more folks move and prices increase, it will eventually make sense to start building more condos.

Finally KC has a rooftop bar downtown with great views of the city. This will be a huge hit.

Re: Making downtown more pedestrian friendly
Was all over downtown for the first time in about six months and have a few thoughts. 1) Living outside of KC and only visiting a few times a year makes day to day changes more noticeable. There has been a big pick up in the number of people downtown. While certain areas are busier than others, you ...

Love these renderings and cannot wait for the added density/removal of a surface lot. It's also super interesting that Cordish is testing out condos for the top floors. Downtown lacks condo inventory and this might be a good way to test how new construction performs...

Could not be a bigger fan of this! The site is currently a surface lot in an area of downtown that has little foot traffic. This hotel would add density and some life to a quieter part of the CBD.

Stop comparing it to the old hotel. The city, market and property have changed to fit today's consumers.

Re: Downtown Hy-Vee concept
It’s been said before on other threads that Kansas scott needs a bodega. While another grocery store would be great, adding three or four bodegas from River Market to Crown center would add a lot IMO.
