Re: Capping the Loop

I mean if it's possible (edit: and I don't see how it physically is) cap 'em both, lol. Cap or remove the whole damn thing.

Re: OFFICIAL - Pennway Point

I still don't get how people are supposed to actually get to this thing. Pershing/Broadway is pretty pedestrian hostile and there's no (public) path underneath to connect to this parcel. I guess people drive and park on site but is this really going to be that much of a destination?

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

So the average fan spends $136 per game in food and merchandise? No way food/merchandise is $2.5 million even for a 40,000 fan sellout ($62.50 per fan every single fan). "Per home game revenue" includes far more than tickets, food, and merchandise.

Re: KCI Flight Schedule Adjustments

I was poking around just for kicks and JetBlue has nonstops from KC to JFK, at least in November, on the A220. JFK and BOS were both announced for the A220 about a year ago. New routes could conceivably include Florida and LA. My bad, I couldn't recall if I had seen JFK announced with BOS. I'm not ...

https://twitter.com/cronkb/status/1507370016592826373/photo/1 The ceilings don't look low here. Oh haven't you heard we've moved on to narrow. Low is such a 2021 critique. In all seriousness judging from the person on the right up against a pole I'd say the gate areas are maybe 12-15 foot ceilings ...

Re: OFFICIAL - Pennway Point

I don't think it would have any problem getting visitors from Crown Center or Union Station, it's a straight shot and visible from both. Boulevard is in an even more disjointed spot and has not trouble attracting people from both downtown and the burbs. Could ultimately be a good stepping stone to ...

Re: Mystery Kansas 'Mega Project'

They generate a lot of tax revenue as well. If a car dealership is located in Merriam but everyone buying the car is from KCMO, KCMO gets the tax money not merriam Also anybody who buys a car direct from a manufacturer (not unlike the Tesla model) pays tax just the same as somebody buying from a de...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal

Maybe we should hold of freaking out on the scale of the building until there's actually things (besides half a dozen workers standing around) inside? Have you ever walked into an empty house thinking there's no way furniture would fit into a room and then somehow it magically fits? I think we're se...

Re: Plowed Streets

I think the last two snow systems the city has done great. A plow came by my suburban residential cul-de-sac late last night and our street after sun today is straight up dry all the way across. I rarely leave my house these days so I can't comment on areas beyond my own street but I'm quite satisfi...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal

To bring this back to KC -- and speaking of doubling back -- the access to the airport from I-635, meaning much of JoCo, has been hindered by an elaborate double-back detour for more than one year now. I usually remember this closure, and drive via Ward Parkway/ SW Tfwy/ B'way Bridge, but a few wee...

GRID, I remember taking the walking sidewalks when I worked for the IRS many years ago just so that I could admire your incredible shots of KC. I must say that it was the best part of working there. I for one really miss your photos from around town...especially the helicopter ones. You and Eric Bo...

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

I was looking at the new terminal this morning. I am wondering if the inner concourse will have gates on both the east and west sides (like the outer concourse will)? Not much room for jets to maneuver if there are gates on the south east end of the inner concourse with Terminal B still intact. Tha...

Re: COVID19

Hospitals are for profit businesses. As such they run tight on bed usage since it's to their advantage to have each bed filled, for maximum profit. Knowing where Covid patients are being kept is important too, because they're not mixed in with other patients. The ICU may have 9/10 beds filled, but ...

Please elaborate.
Open seating sucks ass, especially if you're traveling with more than two people in your party.
