Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was gonna make a dour post about how you should probably ignore the hype around the Yost "turnaround" but I changed my mind. Instead I'm just going to invite you to read through the prior 312 pages of this thread and see how many times the Royals have gone on hot streaks where they've ...

Re: 900 Baltimore Ave.
Not to mention right up the street from 900 at 1010 Baltimore. These damn things protruding into the street trip me up all the time, couldn't imagine if I was in a wheelchair or on crutches--why would the city have ever allowed this?: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geoc...

Without a doubt. With a series win this weekend I will revert to fanboy mode.nilsson1941 wrote: I feel like the White Sox series is going to be pretty crucial. If they win this series I am going to fully buy in to the hype. As of right now, I am cautiously optimistic.

Re: 900 Baltimore Ave.
Unfortunately, the building will be demolished before anything can happen legally. Most city officials, judges, and attorneys have gone home by now. According to the Star article, the demolition is to begin on Saturday. I think it should be noted that judges work on Saturday if an emergency tempor...

Re: 900 Baltimore Ave.
This is unacceptable. The City is using liability as a justification to do nothing to protect a historic structure. Measures could be taken to minimalize the risk to the public. Why can't the City simply block off the area around the building? Doesn't the City have to block off the area to demol...

Re: 900 Baltimore Ave.
smh, send that email to Kevin Collison at the Star. kcollison@kcstar.com Surely he could write an article pointing out the City's selective demolition choice and point out that there are other buildings in this City that would be considered dangerous to the public. Done. I'll keep everyone posted o...

Re: 900 Baltimore Ave.
Just received this email from Ed Ford's office: "Unfortunately, we learned of this potential building demolition last week. An engineer found that it was structurally unsound therefore, the City would be liable should a collapse occur similar to the recent building collapse in midtown that took...

Re: 900 Baltimore Ave.
So, besides just venting our rage here, what should be our next step? Or are we SOL?

Also, just to clarify slightly, I realize some of the newly registered IDs are likely spam bots. But I figure not all of them are. Either way, I'd be interested to hear everyone's thoughts.

I also sent a similar letter to Russ Johnson. These situations leave me feeling frustrated and powerless.

Re: Problem posting
Greetings, I joined about a month ago and had this exact same problem until today. I finally decided to look up a moderator on his blog and email him directly. I couldn't reply, search, view profiles or anything. Oddly enough, I could search if I was logged out, but not while logged in. To the aweso...

Re: 900 Baltimore Ave.
FWIW, I sent the following email (which I whipped together pretty quickly) to Kevin Collison @ the Star: "Mr. Collison: I'm writing you in hopes that you might shed some light in your column or through other means on yet another needless demolition of an historic building in our downtown. Recen...
