Re: NFL Draft
I agree. 20k won’t look like much.
I just reread my source- they said 100,000 people have registered for passes. Which would be 300-400k over the entire period. That sounds like a good number.

Re: NFL Draft
Ive heard conflicting info. I saw the NFL reported today that 300,000 people registered for tickets. Unclear if thats a 3-4 day total or daily. Tickets are free so I doubt everyone goes. I also heard the vendors say they were told to expect 20k people per day- which sounds more in line with reality,...

I feel like Cordish’s play in the past is to propose/move things as the council transitions between electeds.

It’s such a shame it keeps getting stalled because having a hotel right there will really help activate that area

Re: West Bottoms Redevelopment
Where is Historic KC? If they were as vocal about all demolitions throughout the city as they are with a few square blocks around the plaza, i would take them more seriously and not just consider them a literal NIMBY org.

Re: Capping the Loop
Is there any indication of which half of the proposal they will build first once they secure the $135 million? What are peoples thoughts? Build the western contiguous half if it is decided that Baltimore will be closed? Or build the segmented eastern part closer to T-Mobile? I’d lean towards the con...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Literally no one is talking about moving the royals. No one. We have an owner who is saying he is committed to kc and committed to Kauffman legacy. He was a director at the Kauffman foundation at one point. He is talking about improving KC and investing billions in KC. Not to mention, as was stated,...

This is my issue. Trading Weld for this is a bummer. I’d take the 5 over 1 in any other situation

Re: 12th and Broadway site: RFP for mixed use
That was how staff presented it. But after they press that info, Lucas told them they should remove that requirement because finding the $110 million to do BAP is not high on his priority list.
So, who knows what will end up happening

Re: Three Light
The swoop on this building makes a big difference. 3-light also really helps balance out 2-lights squatness. 4-light will only continue this.

Re: 12th and Broadway site: RFP for mixed use
I watched them present this today.
Phase 1- pocket park within 12 months of signed agreement (where office building will go).
Phase 2- 255 apartments kickoff 18-24 months after completion of BAP remake.
Phase 3- office as needed by developers to replace pocket park
