i have a great "kansas city" coffee table book that i found at the river market antique mall that was printed in 1973 by hallmark; it's full of such photos touting the "river quay" entertainment district. wish i had a scanner!

Re: BRT.....a "Real" BRT line through an urban corridor....This is how it's done
I think a BRT dominates LRT on so many fronts and the fascination with LRT still amazes me. It seems more of a novelty. El's and subways are perfect fits for rail, but surface streets need BRT, not LRT. i have no problem with BRT done right, but so many implementations are just express buses that...

another interesting tidbit in the biz journal article: The station's first-quarter revenue nearly doubled from the year-ago period to almost $4 million. Almost all of about 90,000 square feet of offices in the station are leased. the article also notes that the kansas city ballet may move into the p...

last week's biz journal reports that RED/merlin are "nearing the end of their patience" on public financing. as a result, two additional locations in lee's summit are being considered and the $600m budget is being "overhauled".

Unfortunately kcmo is slow to clean these things up. They only recently cleaned up stone walls in Penn Valley with 10 foot high graffiti after months and months. And this is next to million dollar condo development. What makes you think the get the lead out for case park? the privately-funded CID w...
