There was also temporary barracks housing built in Penn Valley Park during WWII. I'll try and find the aerial photo that shows it. I think it might have been for the military personnel training in KC during the war. It was just south of the Old Post Office building, and west of the Liberty Memoria...

The west side of Central between 13th and 14th streets in 1930 shows homes and the Del-Ray Hotel Apartments. Bartle Hall is there today.

Photo taken under the awning at Municipal Auditorium shows the Robert E. Lee Hotel, built in 1925, at the NW corner of Wyandotte and 13th Street in 1949. The Aladdin Hotel is in the background.

The Brunswick Hotel stood on the NW corner of 10th and Broadway. The Quality Hill Supermarket building is there today. To the left is the Estill Apartment building, which remains. The San Dora Hotel stood at the corner of 15th and Broadway in the area where I-670 now exists. The address was 1502 Broadway. The photo is from 1926.

Aerial from 1930 shows area around Convention Hall in downtown Kansas City before Municipal Auditorium and Bartle Hall were constructed. The Power and Light Building is being constructed.

Photo from 1890 shows the All Soul's Church on the east side of Broadway looking south between 9th and 10th streets. The building housing the Subway Restaurant is there today.
