Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Why wouldn't they get used? Typical KC response. Let's think small and build a little minor league ballpark that seats 20k and then we can worry about adding more seats later. If they want taxpayer support, I would not vote for a downtown stadium if it didn't seat at least 30k+. They're not going t...

Re: Uptown Shoppes
A Marriot hotel is in the design phase for mid-town. I wonder if its the Uptown hotel. https://www.construction.com/projects/dr-201600468674-marriott-towne-place-suites-hotel Let's hope not. The Uptown hotel was supposed to be a "Moxy" brand. I'd consider Towne Place to be a considerable ...

Yeah - that map is a blast. I think it's somewhere in the "Why Can't the West Bottoms be Redeveloped" thread, but who the hell knows where.
Thanks for posting it in its own thread.

KC Police in action on The Plaza. Not a great look, IMO.

Hate to lose any downtown tenants, but that is a great little chunk of land. Would be some pretty good views for any residential or commercial development.

Re: COVID-19 Casualties
Added Jacobson to the list. Gotten independent confirmation that the Parkway restaurant people bought it up and are renovating it. There is definitely a lot of work going on at the site. I loved the vibe, set up and cocktails at Jacobson, but I never liked the food. Sorry to see them go, but also e...

They could also wash them. I would think a full, successful building like that would have the money to do that once or twice a year.

Re: Closed Bars and Restaurants
Beignet is closing after 7 years at City Market. This is why I wish some local restaurant executive with a pulse on local restaurant runnings (Joyce) could warn us of potential closings. We could have all hit up Beignet and given some much needed CPR to keep it going in the short term. I know all r...

Re: COVID & Carryout
I ordered lunch from Jarocho's (sp?) last week and it was very good (as usual). Rudy's Tenampa was good.
Looking forward to Fox and Pearl for lunch sometime this week. They have a good looking menu.
I've heard The Russell is doing good work - I need to get some of that too.

Re: COVID19
Does the general public need N95s? Not that anyone seems to know for sure, but wearing masks personally seems to be more about coughing/sneezing (infecting others) - and touching your own face/nose when you're out in the dirty, dirty world. I think regular surgical masks or covering of the mouth and...

Who's putting together the list of local restaurants with carryout and drive thru available? I can only eat so much Schwarmar and Panchos before Coronavirus becomes the least of my health concerns.

You can't barely get a proper Italian Beef in this town. North End has one. Not many other good ones come to mind. R.I.P. Moe's Italian Spot.

Re: Politics
Bernie going to St Louis makes a little more sense because u can get people from Illinois to come to his rally which has a primary a week later. Kansas doesn't have primary for a couple more months He had them both on the schedule. It's not like he needed to choose between the two. Unless Bernie th...
