Re: I-35/Pleasant Valley Road Construction

If I understood the sign correctly the other day, we will be entering 35 south on the new ramp in a couple of weeks.

Re: New construction near Sprouts/Cheddar's

Oooooh. I didn't realize that was called Shoppes at Shoal creek--since Shoal Creek is down where Sprouts is. That's great since that is closer to me and easier to get to. :-)

Wow--right there where Sprouts is? That seems odd. At least to me.

Wouldn't it be odd to have a Casey's right next to the Quick Trip?

Re: Sprouts

We've gone there a couple times now. It won't be our primary grocery location, but we do like it. It is really good for their sales, but the stuff that isn't on sale is usually cheaper at Hyvee. It may just be the new factor, but so far each time we've gone it has been pretty packed. Ditto, though ...

Re: New Restaurants/Other Businesses in Northland

I have no idea about Falls at Crackerneck Creek (Who came up with that name?!?), but have to say that my husband does this, too. He considers anything north of I-70 to be "Northland" (We've only been here for 5 years, but you'd think he would get it by now.). I just roll my eyes at him...

Re: Topeka to lose skyline building

I don't think anyone who works in that building will be sorry. My sister and brother-in-law work there. They found bedbugs on the floor below them this week. It is always too cold or too hot. Something is always broken.

I think fewer people are having traditional funerals/burials due to the cost. I see more people just having private memorial services at a church, home or center.

Re: Costco

I belong to both Sam's and Costco. I live in Liberty. I almost never go to the new Sam's here--just doesn't seem to have as much as the one on N. Oak. Honestly, I'd rather drive to mid-town to Costco. It's only about 12 miles or so.

I love that this is a free world where we can all have and express our own opinions. :-) Think what a dull place it would be if we all thought and felt the same way.

Re: Flintlock Flyover is Open

Potential seller disclosures would include such things as leaky windows, noisy neighbors, major major construction, possible noise from motor vehicles and airplanes, or building development projects nearby.

Just sent you a message with more info on location. Our realtor had only been in Missouri herself for about a year, though I do feel she should have known more about what was happening here. I can't say for other states, but in California, if there is development planned within x number of miles of...

Re: Flintlock Flyover is Open

The traffic was at 7:30 am--before there was any school activity at Alexander Doniphan. Traffic was backed up as far up Liberty Drive (toward 152) as we could see, down past our neighborhood near High/Marvel. See my post in the other thread. We had no idea any of this was happening when we bought ou...

Re: Cheddar's and S. Grcoery Store Shoal Creek

It's not the lights. It's the width. They added the lights and then added 20k people. The road was designed to fix traffic issues of the late 1990s. It wasn't designed for that many more people And I said it before, the flyover was designed to add cars into Liberty. Yes, that was planned as a goal....

Re: Flintlock Flyover is Open

What a disaster this thing is! We can't make a turn onto Liberty Drive from our street (which has no other outlet). It was a complete standstill on Liberty Drive this morning. This city really needs to get some decent people in the planning department. And then listen to them.

Re: Cheddar's and S. Grcoery Store Shoal Creek

They need to just put a lid on development. We've already got more than the roads can handle. Thanks to the new Flintlock Flyover, we now can't get out of our development onto Liberty Drive. What a nightmare. How could the city planners/engineers not have known this would happen? I sure saw it coming!
