Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Besides 50+ years of history and both teams having “Kansas City” in their official names… the loss of tax revenue. The loss of synergy with KC etc. Shooting for gold, which is downtown baseball and ending up with suburban baseball- Travesty. Trying to extend the life of one of the most iconic NFL s...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Grand currently closed for the big12 as we approaching rush hour, Oak is essentially bumper to bumper traffic through the area. I can't imagine the shit show this would be right now if oak was closed.
Easily the street with the most traffic downtown on days when grand is closed

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Does anyone with insider information have knowledge of any plans by the Royals to complete that CBA and release more details? They may be able to turn this bad perception around with a kick-ass promise to the community, but that’s probably what it will take if the fervor online and unanimous No-vot...

The news reports the Chiefs lease will be 25 years with 3 five year extensions for a total of 40. What are the terms of the extensions?

They only studied only running a bus once every 30 or 60 minutes? What a joke. Should have at least studied a frequency of every 15 or 20 minutes...
Literally nobody is interested in riding a bus that only runs once an hour, what a waste of money studying that.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
This is about downtown Kansas City finally knowing our worth. We don’t have to desperately take any deal brought to the table and deals have to be fair. We shouldn’t be negotiating from a place of weakness, like we did with Cordish and P&L. In the past 20 years, there are a few new five over on...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
So... What happens if the county sales tax passes but the team can't get the money from the city and state? Are we paying to maintain a non-existent stadium for the next 40 years? The money has already been discussed with the leaders of those two entities agreeing to go to bat for the team. No pun ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The royals just doomed the vote. How out of touch and stupid is their ownership? Every day gets worse. Both teams are being extremely shady and I no longer blame anyone for not trusting anything. I've been saying all along things feel fishy,l and that they royals are lying shit things. this new arti...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
How many here would rather see the Chiefs build a new stadium in Kansas than renovate Arrowhead? I'm not totally sure I would support it, but I really do think I would entertain the idea now. I'm just not impressed with the Hunts plans for Arrowhead. They would be dead to me if they move to Kansas....

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
I wonder how much being in KC School district is holding back the area? If KC could get TSC area flipped from KCSD to Raytown or Indp. school districts would that make it any more desirable for a mixed use development full of apts? If they could get a target, a strip mall with chipotle and places th...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
This is not a secret mission they hope fails for some other purpose. They’re spending real money on this effort and while it could have all been so much better regarding how it’s been handled, there’s nothing fishy. You have two sports teams who have a lot going on. Neither owner is a developer and...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I got my first YouTube ad today saying to vote yes.
It was a nice feel good ad with a lot of Chiefs highlights, some royals, taking about legacy and stuff. And of course no new taxes and keep the teams in Jackson Co was the main things they hit on. No shots of either stadium plan.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I think one thing we can all agree on, both the Royals and Chiefs have out of touch owners with zero charisma. Both had the worst stadium reveals with zero pizazz. We are the stadium design capitol of the world and both were massive letdowns. Populus is overrated. I like the crossroads location and ...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
Did they clarify if that 25 years starts now, or starts in 2031? Locking the Chiefs there until 2049 or 2056? It sounds like from the ballot language the 40 years tax extension starts the clock over this year, so running through 2064. Even best case scenario, that's a 8 year gap between 2056 and 206...
