Re: OFFICIAL - LuxLiving 'The Wonderland' (formerly Faultless Linen)

I'm fine with the traffic calming. The lane drop makes space for a pedestrian walkway on the west side of Broadway (assuming that's still accessible).

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

If the Royals go to EV, Is there any chance the Star Press building could become an urban indoor market subsidized by the city? Something like that could open up along side the opening of the stadium and 670 cap. The best chance for redeveloping this building is as a new home for Mark One Electric.

Correct.
That didn't stop one from being granted for BOK... on a boulevard, no less.

To be clear, the team cannot condemn. That would either be the city, the county, MoDOT, PortKC, KCATA or something like that… and they need a sound justification for it to avoid legal threats.

I guess Resurrection just finished a big capital campaign for the downtown campus expansion and now intends to sell. How does that play for donors? https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/article284741906.html Resurrection – formerly Church of the Resurrection – announced Friday that the congregation...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

No one supporting the EC site has a good answer for what we do with the already cleared EV site funded by taxpayers. This is a bad faith argument. Those blocks have been empty and surface lots for decades, long before it became a proposed stadium site. The few buildings that were demolished badly n...

re: "facadectomies"... I don't think I've ever seen one done in KC. The places that do them usually have requirements. Regardless, the facades are not the issue, it's the displacement.

Re: Bike Lanes

What's the policy with city clearing snow from bike lanes? Looks cleared on Gilham, not at all on Armour. If a person is really dependent on bike to get around, and city policy is to encourage this, riders have a winter predicament. I don't believe there is a policy, but they do have the equipment ...

What if Frank White was actually trying to get the best deal for taxpayers, who were roundly fucked over by the last agreement? And now that the term will be 40 YEARS (a term that should be illegal, tbh), why not extract more value? Obviously just locating downtown isn't everyone's primary motivati...
