Re: IKEA may be coming to Merriam Village
Wouldn't the Bannister/Three Trails site work well for IKEA? They can build right up against the Interstate, lots of access, would be the economic spur to possibly push Cerner to accelerate their South campus plans as well as additional office/retail and restaurants to compliment IKEA.

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar
The starter line should really go from the Rivermarket to the Plaza IMO. yes, it should in an ideal world. the city had been creative to get funding for 1/3 that length. Hopefully, once the initial line gets up, everyone will see it to be a great peice of the puzzle and will push the expansions qui...

Re: Kansas, Missouri battle over companies
The 26 million in credits can only be taken if Freightquote meets the strict payroll qualifications. So depending on how jobs works out, it could pan out to be in our favor. In addition, that area actually has quite a bit of offerings (foodwise) to the north of 435 and towards Ward Parkway which isn...

Re: Google picks KCK/KCMO for ultra fast fiber network
Wow, just checked out the fiberhoods on both sides. KCMO has a large number of "hoods" that have met their quotas along the core while KCKS has like SEVEN that have qualified. Google Fiber should have just set up shop on the MO side. LOL.

Really like the urbane feel. I need to open a brunch space there, Eggtc won't be able to handle all the new business.

That would be such a crappy location. They would have to revamp that entire access point to accommodate for that kind of high volume traffic that would implode there.

OH. MY. GAWD. If this happens and it goes either market rate rentals or "reasonably" priced condos. That would be a HUGE boost to residential along with the P&L tower/Midland office additions! Woot.

Amen!GRID wrote:I drove by that casino. It actually turned out worse than the renderings. Didn't think that was possible. Hollywood Casinos suck everywhere. They have some in the DC area.
Now replace Isle of Crap with a Hard Rock Casino or something that would actually be a nice addition to KC!

So I just took a look at the master site plan. Interesting layout but what exactly is this "museum" again? Is it really going to be some regional draw that will want to make people stay and shop in the Xburbs? I see a theater/cinema is part of the plan but really? In such close proximity t...

And Dicks Sporting is only at 119th & Nall, very nearby. I can't imagine being that much difference other than people saying "I got this at REI". Douches! Poor Backwoods isn't going to survive. Sad.

Dropped by to look in and get some menus for work and they were a busy little place. It's such a bright and airy space and love how they've made it open. The hostess said they are doing pretty well thus far and once their liquor license is established (on Friday), they will be pushing happy hours an...

Re: AMC coming to Empire, Midland to be restored...
I'm not sure I agree with the thought that downtown needs more residential to keep the Mainstreet busy, to keep the restaurant (heck all area restaurantes) and retail, yes. But I drive in from the burbs to go to Cinemark Plaza, Ward Parkway and Mainstreet.
