Youth conference @ Bartle Hall

Fang - I couldn't agree with you more!!! Great Post!!! First impressions are key....esspecially with youth/young adults.

My question: Why doesn't the city of KCMO realize this???? Don't they want to make a good impression?

Youth conference @ Bartle Hall

The level of service/info provided by the city is probably determined by the convention and what they want. Oranizations with minors are usually a lot more strict about controlling the info and activities that go on at a convention. Ok, that makes sense...but everybody that I know going to this con...

Youth conference @ Bartle Hall

This conference is expected to bring over 10,000 people. I have a friend who came all the way from Florida to attend. So, if people from Florida are coming to KC just for this conference, that should show how big of a deal it is. I also know the organizers of this conference (who are all from KC). T...

KCI

I flew out of LAX last spring to go to Hawaii and the security line went through the main check-in terminal, out the door, down the sidewalk, up the stairs, across a pedestrian bridge and ended in the parking lot!! I realized there was no way I'd make my flight even though I had over an hour so I w...

San Antonio are trying to get the Wiz

If any city could build a 20,000-seat soccer stadium, I'm sure it would be San Antonio (not Overland Park or Olathe). :-( #-o ](*,)

I never quite understood why anyone in their right mind would go in the secure area and then complain about restaurants and bathrooms. I think it takes exactly 1 minute to go through the secure area. I believe at LAX, lines to go through security winded around 2 terminals. People don't use any comm...

If you fly regularly, you know to do all the stuff you want to do before going into the security area. That area is just for waiting to board. You don't have to go in there hours early. True, but if you've never been to KCI before, you wouldn't know to that. I like it the way it is because you can ...

KCI

All of my out-of-town friends say they love how simple (easy) KCI is! So, for years, I thought KCI was the "best" airport in the country! But, when I flew to Denver last month, I must admit, I was very impressed with their airport (DIA). I like how AFTER you go through security, you can ea...

A Kansas City Moment...

I love that time of day. The sky is a very dark purplish blue and the buildings shimmer with both their internal light and reflected light. And though the sun is nowhere to be seen, the sun still reflects off the glass of builsings tall enough to still be in line with a sun below the horizon. Then ...

A Kansas City Moment...

I wanted to post this for anybody who loves Kansas City... At about 5:20pm today, I was driving on I-35 (North) in Kansas City, Kansas. I was listening to the Chiefs game. By the time I got to the Missouri side (and facing Downtown), it was just before 5:30. The sun was setting. I would see the ligh...

2005 Predictions

Ok here's what I think will happen (and bare with me if these don't happen, but I'm new to studying KC's development): 1. Jackson County voters approve some kind of tax increase for the stadiums - OR - 2. A plan for a downtown baseball stadium will unfold, and voters will approve it. 3. At least hal...

Chiefs Out of Playoffs

You do know that Lamar Hunt has said himself that his family wouldn't ever think of moving the Chiefs out of Kansas City... Well, I have heard on the radio that Lamar Hunt's son doesn't like KC at all. So, of course it's true if I heard it on the radio...right? LOL. But, if it is true, and Lamar di...

I need to punt Peter-less and throw up some asinine comment from the greedy one. Ok! Here are some of my ideas for you (feel free to use anyone you wish, if you like them)... " http://67.18.37.18/1137/7/emo/fingers.gif KANSAS CITY! - Lamar Hunt" " http://67.18.37.18/1137/7/emo/finger...

Sprint / Nextel Merger Talks

Does this affect the Sprint Center? I hope not. But, if it does, it will probably only affect the NAME. The city will no doubt make sure the arena is built one way or the other. But, it will probably have no affect what-so-ever. (But, I'm not sure) I just hope they don't change the name!!! I was ju...

That, my friend, is NOT fun.

were you watching the same game? Because the game I was watching was downright ugly. Our defense got absolutely lit up by the 4-8 Titans. Bartee was torched so badly, I almost feel sorry for the guy. BILL FREAKIN VOLEK scored 38 points against us. I mean, COME...ON. We know our offense can beat the...

I can't believe that game last night!!! I can't believe the NFL!! It was fun watching two 4-8 teams score 87 points! It was even better in the last minute of the game, when the Chiefs got 2 touchdowns to win the game 49-38!!! Wow. Ok, they're out of the playoffs...but sometimes they're still fun to ...

Bi-State III (yes that's three)

Good points, who are our representatives and what would it take to get the aid that STL gets? I don't know and I don't know. My guess is all of KC's Reps & Senators are Democrats and they are towing the party line - "ST LOUIS FIRST" Sounds like it. Why aren't these people accountable?...

Ok, for the Edward Jones Dome...how much did it cost to build that? What percentage of that total did Missouri tax payers pay? What percentage of that total did St. Louis (city) taxpayers pay? As for the Truman Sports Complex...how much did it cost to those stadiums? ($3-4 Million/year doesn't sound...
