Re: UMKC Conservatory of Music considers move to downtown
https://conservatory.umkc.edu/release.cfm?cont=1A2AE7 More than $29 million has been raised with $19 million needed to complete UMKC’s private fundraising goal for the project. Once that is accomplished, UMKC will submit a request to the State of Missouri for a matching $48 million appropriation th...

Re: UMKC Conservatory of Music considers move to downtown
UMKC has about a year left to obtain the rest of the funding for this project in order to get the 20 million dollar match from Kauffman. I believe that also means getting the MO state government to pitch in 50% of the cost for the project. Does anyone have any idea how the private part of the fund r...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar
Question for those who favor expansion. I think the most logical expansion would be down Main to a point on the Plaza. Would that extension still generate annual surplus funds for the expanded TDD? And I would think with the expansion would be additional trains with those capital and operating expe...

a hotel room frequently has one car per 500 square feet. you have a lot more dedicated hallways, suites for business travelers, lounge space and such. whereas offices tend to have a lot more small cube work spaces.
Makes total sense. Thanks.

Boutique hotel would need less parking? How much parking would it need to leave it as an office building? Is it a class B or C building? I remember reading somewhere that taking up a lot of the B and C office buildings for residential has a consequence of taking up space that entrepreneurs use for ...

Not much chatter here about last week's installation of the first set of hardware for the streetcar stops, so I missed my chance to applaud what may be the best part of the stop's design ... http://www.pitch.com/binary/5c75/mj.jpg ... which is the blue-gray plastic rumble strips at the edge of the ...

Re: Streetcar phase 1.5- single track to Federal reserve
anything further south should be center-running (but not dedicated ROW) because the character of the street is different and traffic volumes are higher. both charlotte, new orleans, and DC are doing this on segments of their new routes. So, something like below, but not dedicated? https://farm5.sta...

The old road was Front St.. Same as the new road I don't see how that line could be in front of several dozen other options. It's roughly $75 million that would be better put to crossing the river. Access to thousands of blue collar jobs in NKC and help eliminate some need for a super expensive i-3...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar
You forget the casino. If the track could be extended to Berkley Riverfront Park at least to the Isle of Capri casino, you might be able to collect some type of additional revenue for the construction from the casino, which would benefit from having a streetcar from downtown hotels to their facilit...

Wonder why they chose Manchester as their first and likely only KC location? It would seem to be a long way from both their core buyer demos and the kind of visibility they might want (JOCO?). I was about to type the same thing, seems like an odd location. A better location would have been around I...

Noticed today on Manchester north of Stadium Dr that there was a Tesla dealer of some sorts, it had like 3 tesla cars that you could see in its showroom and there was a tesla sign on top of the building. I think this is new, I drive by there a lot and have never noticed it before. Nice find and it ...

This building seems short for 25 floors. Wish it were about 150-200 ft taller. It was originally supposed to be a 35 story building. Nice to see it finally coming out of the ground though. I believe at one time a hotel was going to be included with this building. That could be the reason why there ...
