The first major structure you see at most airports is a massive parking structure.

KC screws up plenty of stuff, but cmon. This is SOP for modern airports, for better or worse.

The star is desperate for readership and relevance. I expect them to pull crap like this more often moving forward.

even in the long shot world where both teams leave, having strong transit connections to the core will go a long way to a sustainable walkable redevelopment.

You're not going to put a public parking garage under a major stadium for safety reasons, never mind the cost.

Post 9-11, city hall/public safety is bound to raise concerns with that.

I can tell you from my own professional experience when Trump imposed the steel tariffs a few years back, structural steel prices jumped significantly. A number of projects I was working on had to be re-bid/VE'd to accommodate the sudden cost jump.

That's pathetic. If Port KC thinks that's the highest and best use of that land, KC is going to get really left behind in the next 10 years.

It's still a shocking downgrade in quality for such a prominent spot in one of the top metro attractions. Disappointed that management thought that Rally House's prototypical finishes were acceptable. I'm sure the Parisi people don't love it either.
