Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

The sad thing is, I actually like the star site the best (minus closing oak) and I far prefer renovations to Arrowhead over a new stadium, especially don't want them moving to the F*cking legends, and think we are getting a fair deal in just reviewing the tax rather than increasing it... But the way...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I understand the desire to know every detail but that's completed unrealistic. How are they supposed to tell us about the cap when that's a separate project? Why should they spend time and resources coming up with traffic plans before they even know if they're doing this thing? You're never going t...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

They have! The tax raises $350 million dollars and they’ve committed to spending over a billion in private money. And, they’ve committed to putting the profit from the village back into the team. This guys viral post is full of nonsense. Sure, the royals share some blame but who is to blame for a s...

You know how to combat that? Share the details of the plans and the financing. Silence brings this on and the royals have nobody to blame but themselves They have! Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

If Oak "tunnels" similar to 13th under the convention center I'd be cool with that. I'd rather it not look like 14th under the CC or lower Wacker Chicago which are not pedestrian friendly.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

It works fine for commuting and real life traffic. google maps can't tell us what we need to know about putting in 35k people into and out of the stadium by using the "it doesn't look busy in the morning" argument. For sure this would be a discussion for EV site too. There we wouldn't be ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

The reason they eliminated Oak is because they want the buildings right up against the stadium. Especially the office and residential that will have awesome ballpark views that can help demand higher rents. Yea, I don't give a F about their theoretical higher rents. The street needs to stay open an...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

The Stadium can easily fit on the site without closing Oak. Push it a few feet towards Grand and remove a few rows of seats in the right field. Heck, in the press conference they said they haven't even decided on field dimensions yet.

If the shooting sways just 1-2% of people from not wanting a downtown stadium that could doom the vote... American gun culture is disgusting.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

somebody can go ahead and give this to the Royals, I'm designing the stadium for free... You can Easily fit a baseball stadium (this is roughly a 30k seat stadium, using a Royals Urban academy field which has fences that are 8 to 10 feet shorter than the K. Also can fit a soccer field. Saves a big ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I get it, but Oak is gone. The plan for Grand between T-Mobile and Kansas City Live will have to be tweaked but pedestrian safety is more important than saving someone 3 minutes of travel time. This attitude is going to make me fight the tax. I'd rather the royals move to Nashville than close oak. ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Because they're shutting down Grand for the Parade tomorrow. Oak is usually lightly used. And grand is constantly closed for concerts, events, big 12, etc. Oak is extremely vital and I will not back down on this. I get it, but Oak is gone. Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

That press conference was terrible and full of non-answers. They haven't partnered with anybody, seemingly haven't even spoke with most property owners. Doesn't seem they have even worked with the city yet on street design. I bet they don't even know city ordinance doesn't allow new pedestrian bridg...
