Re: Kc skyscraper drought about to max depression era droughttt.
You know Kansas City’s cultural peak was probably the 1920s-30s and I don’t think pro biz services/STEM employers had anything to do with it. Right now the urban core is still the cultural and entertainment center of the metro. There’s still growth in that and I think that will sustain the upward tr...

Haha oh yeah that too. I’m not sure why I didn’t think of that.Critical_Mass wrote:Bollards with existing configuration would block the curbside parking. Hence swapping the bike lane and parking with the reconfiguration.

Re: Make Grand Grand
So Dave is this funding on Grand already going to change up the bike lanes ? Yes. Most likely it will swap the parking and bike lanes so they would be protected. Why not just put up bollards on existing bike lanes? Only a drunk or completely psychotic idiot would drift into the bike lanes then. Oh ...

Re: Misc Crossroads News
All these added amenities but we still can’t attract a local major employer downtown. It’s almost as Kansas City as tearing down a building for a parking lot on a street/block with an over abundance of parking. Or not stopping at a crosswalk. Not to side rail, but If all of this momentum flickers ou...

Re: Two Light - 14th & Grand
This article in the Star says Two Light is already fully leased. I find that a little hard to believe. Any input, Stranger Things? http://www.kansascity.com/opinion/editorials/article198207929.html Seems like a dubious claim although Stranger Things have happened It's not 100% leased, no idea where...

Re: The Future of Crown Center
So when will they put that lot facing Main Street on sale? Oh no, they can’t sell that parcel! Wherever will people park when they come to watch fireworks?! #saveourlot But no joke, I read on reddit somebody complaining about this newest parcel being made available because they’re planning to have ...

Re: Urbanism and Pros and Cons of Gentrification
That is, word for word and idea for idea how I feel. Which is why it’s irritating there’s a forum being put on to rally people against a fake evil. It’s so clearly being done for personal political purposes and I imagine to help the realtor who is helping moderate the discussion. Everything about th...

Urbanism and Pros and Cons of Gentrification
I just saw this event and thought I’d post it on here. https://www.facebook.com/events/316031832249113/?ti=icl thoughts? Looks like there’s some rabble rousing with ulterior motives going on here but it might be good for there to be real dialogue between developers, communities and city leaders to a...
