I would say all the surface parking, warehouses and 71 are far worse eyesores than Tension. Also, there's definitely still envelopes being manufactured there.
Really I'm just a huge fan of that neon beauty on top

Re: Learning from Phase 2 OR Rising from the Ashes
Is there anyway the city could fund and build a streetcar to UMKC and other places without voter approval/levying a tax?

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
How far is the riverfront development from Columbus Park? I can't picture this area for some reason. I hate to admit it but I just recently discovered Columbus Park. I depended on the bus system for 6 years which made that area non existent to me.

I can't think of anything else that could deliver a gritty, urban experience quite like a set piece from Blade Runnerbhedges1987 wrote:Put a big ass jumbo tron on top of it, capped by the crownMidtownCat wrote:This thing definitely needs a crown. Re: New Convention Hotel
It would be cool if KC's skyline had a 50 block continuity from the Plaza to Downtown. But...ya know, bluffs and all that shit. Still, this is so exciting. I get to actually be alive and aware of a major skyline addition to my home city I love. A sort of beacon of identity for this new future (which...

Re: New Convention Hotel
I'm excited about the new skyline but I'm having a hard time visualizing what the view from the south would look like with the hotels, all the Light buildings, other new and speculative structures. Anybody up for the photoshop challenge? Also, I'm a little frustrated with Kerr's comment on all devel...

Re: Drunk History
Lol no worries. Drunk History is a Comedy Central show where natives of certain cities share a historical story from the city's past while extremely intoxicated. The narrative is lip synched and acted out by famous actors and ccomedians. I mostly asked out of curiosity to see if KC could boast three...

OK, so they create an episode of Drunk History centered on Kansas City. If it was up to you what story would you choose to tell? Go!

Re: Troost developments
There's so many beautiful buildings with second and third floor apartments and ground floor retail all along Troost. The fact that most are being used to store building materials and who knows whatever other BS is tragic. So much potential squandered. I wish there was a way to rehab all the building...

Re: Proposed apartment for 14th and Grand - Two Light
Interesting that the office space is "required" for the use of incentives - I was hoping it was already spoken for, and would represent at least a small amount of demand for new Class A space downtown. That is really the next frontier. That and capping the loop. And extending the streetca...
