Re: The Star rates top ten local suburban hellholes
Leawood is number 2. Don't get it, but that's ok. I think we were all wrong on the number one suburb. It's gonna be OP. No way they don't include OP in the top ten. It's one of the best suburbs in the country, I don't like how it got to be one the the best, but it is one of the best. The S...

Re: New Kansas City Wizards Stadium
which is what, more lofty unnattainable dreams? I thought so, till I saw plans for a freaking 600 million dollar renovation of Arrowhead that kills the aesthetics of the stadium by adding a rolling roof that is not even a real roof that could be used for major events easily, all at what it would co...

Re: why do they sell Mizzou stuff a the "Kansas" Sampler?
brilliant! (and that's coming from a mizzou fan...) I thought you were a KU guy :) I hate KU, but don't care much about the rest of the college sports world either though. However, I would love to see the "University of Kansas City" take basket ball to the next level. Can you image, ...

Re: OFFICIAL: Mixed-use project near Power & Light
I think this is a great project, it's mixed use, hides the parking and is high density. The fact that it replaces a parking lot doesn't hurt either. This is the exact type of project we need all over downtown to fill in the parking lots and add density.

Re: OFFICIAL - Federal Reserve HQ construction
it's up... kind of cool the way they have the first one right up against the street. Yea, that is awesome, it make the city seem even more dramatic when cresting the hill at 29th and Main plus you can see the block cranes too. I have not seen any other tower crane bases, are there others? People k...

Re: Get the 11-18-05 Business Journal!!!
i am glad to hear about this, but why the hell wouldn't the journal mention IRS, the Fed, PAC, condos, etc? that is probably $1B worth of stuff right there. since i can't get a copy, what DOES it talk about? They are mentioned in the map and in little side notes, just not in detail. They do go...

Get the 11-18-05 Business Journal!!!
If you haven’t done so, get this week’s edition of the KC Business Journal. It’s got a nice special insert with details of a lot of the Downtown projects. The Star should do something like that. After spending an hour reading it, even I was amazed at just how much is going on Downtown an...

Yea, lets blow this out of proportion. I realize Downtown needs all of this stuff and I realize that much of your typical chains will be the cordish development. But there is nothing wrong with wishing many of these basic retailers would come online in the secondary retail locations "around&q...

Re: why do they sell Mizzou stuff a the "Kansas" Sampler?
I don't see how many can argue that KU is able to recruit at a national level more due to its reputation as a top basketball school. KS is a small state, they would have to anyway if they do want to be a top school.

Re: Dave & Busters
if we get one downtown, everyone will hate it. I would hope we can do better than D&B as a major tenant in our urban entertainment district. There is more to do at Cool Crest and Paradise Park anyway. ESPN Zone, now that would be cool. I know, I'm asking too much. D&B and Bass Pro, that ...
