Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

Well apparently someone was shot at the Sheraton. Streets were blocked off this morning:

Re: Katz on Main

This is all correct. I heard from someone on the Redeemer board that they had offers for 20% more on the property but didn't take them because they involved demo-ing the building. At some point, I imagine they probably just sell the building to the highest bidder instead of holding on to it forever.

I have no insight, but I believe that is owned by Rockhurst. Wouldn't be surprised if it was for more parking and potentially future development down the road.

Punch Bowl Social filed for Chapter 11 and closed all but 2 of their locations. Not sure they are going in on the plaza anymore.

Re: 29 Belleview Town Homes

Interesting. According to the parcel viewer, this property is owned by Caleb Buland of Exact Partners. I assume this is his project. Additionally, behind his property is the land owned by Syndicate Property Holdings, where they plan to build 48 apartments: https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news...

Re: Troost Village

This project probably won't get going for quite some time. Even by their own schedule (and developers are almost always overly optimistic on that), this phase would begin in December with everything going by Q2 2022. I would guess they would start with renovations to the 911 Linwood and the Firesto...

“If Kansas has that in their corner, and Las Vegas did not have a solid ownership group, then that could tilt the scales” said Patrick Rishe, sports business director at Washington University in St. Louis.

Re: Main St. Buick GMC Site - 3200 Main St.

I am tempted to say yes, but not 100% positive. Ownership is Seattle Realty LLC out of Hutchinson, KS.

This used to be Conklin Fangman which was a Salina and Hutchinson Kansas dealership originally, I believe.

Main St. Buick GMC Site - 3200 Main St.

Apologies if this has been posted. Coudn't find it mentioned, and couldn't find the right topic, but this massive site had a call for offers that was due 12/11/20. http://login.mail.rms-media.net/editor_images/image_4ecda221/files/3200%20Main%20St/3200%20Main%20St%20OM_low%20res.pdf I guess I always...

Re: COVID-19 Casualties

This is surprising because it is a new landlord as of late 2019/early 2020 (Exact Partners). There are actually quite a few restaurants looking for spaces right now. You have a bunch of new vacancies opening up with kitchens already built-out, so it's not the worst time for an aspiring or current re...

Re: OFFICIAL - KC Star Printing Press

Interesting thought, but I don't see any way in which a baseball stadium could fit there. You'd need at least two other blocks of parcels, right? A stadium would need 17th st to the highway and Grand to Locust to just fit the stadium without any type of parking structure.

Re: Midtown Area Apartment Boom

I am fairly confident Mac is not the buyer of these properties. You make your money on the purchase, and they are bottom-of-the-barrel buyers. You have to think they are keeping tabs on property owners along this stretch. If something in this area gets listed, it's likely because the owner thought t...

Re: East Side Development

I spoke to the owners of the St. Regis at Linwood and Paseo a few weeks ago and they received tax credits to renovate the building. They plan to start work in January. That will be good as the exterior has been looking rough for quite awhile, and there have been construction barriers in the streetne...

Re: East Side Development

Regrettably, the chunky old brick apartment building at 33rd and Paseo partially collapsed and then was demolished a couple months ago. It was the last remnant of multifamily pre-war housing between Linwood and Armour. Was this on the north side of 33rd? Is anyone aware of development plans in this...

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

Don't know if this was re-uploaded to Loopnet, or if it just previously wasn't on there, but it has been for sale for most of 2020. It is very expensive and Mac won't be a buyer unless the price is reduced significantly. I'd say the fact that it is listed is more because of the overall midtown apart...
