i too lament the decline of neighborly interaction, but i have to say, as a kid from the Cul-De-Sac Age, cul-de-sacs are fun as hell to play in. heheh.

the possibilities presented by a large circular piece of pavement are endless.

since i utterly refuse to live anywhere south of KC, that knocks out OKC and Tulsa. (not that i'd ever want to live there anyway. barf.) so it's down to Des Moines and Omaha, and i voted for des moines. i dont' know a whole lot about either, but from what i can gather des moines is a bit more libera...

i doubt very many JoCo subdivided lots are much more than a quarter-acre, unless you're talking about super-upscale places. my parents are the same way. my dad says it's too much of a "pain in the ass" to drive 10 minutes to the plaza, but of course we can drive way out to south independen...

luckily merriam is reasonably close to the plaza, so it's not like youre way out in the hinterlands of big box country.

i am pleased to report that i visited Fluffy Fresh (north of 435 on state line) last weekend and it is as good as ever. FAR better than lamar's. their long johns are enormous and are slathered with the best chocolate icing around. their cake donuts also have a bit of a "crust" on them, so ...

based on Highwoods' history with scoring lame tenants, they probably got suckered into not putting an exclusivity agreement in there.

(1) yes, go to Bryant's. 16th and Brooklyn (right?). (2) it probably goes without saying, but go to the Plaza. also, go just south/SW of the plaza into the hills and gawk and the fantastic mansions. it's like Clayton, but on hills. heh. (3) if you and dad like ethnic food, go to 39th street approach...

they should bring in another large semi-unique chain restaurant up there, since everything at ZR can be found elsewhere. do SOMETHING different people!!!
