The main reason that KCK looks so rural from I-70 is that for years and years it was a no local access turnpike from the Turner Diagonal west, and to the east only had exits at 38th, 18th, and 7th. Re: John Travolta and Tom Cruise invade the Crossroads

Re: 20-24 story residential/hotel considered for 31st/Main
That bridge has had chunks falling out of it for the past 30 years. There once was a branch bank drive through on the vacant lot on Main. I don't know if it is part of the Trinity property or not. It sure would make a nice spot for some infill retail/services, especially if the light rail goes do...

I was out at the Home Decorators today, and the clerk said that while weekends are booming, weekday sales are slow.

I don't begrudge developers making a buck, its the development attorneys(e.g., Aaron March) that concern me.

That view of the Towne Pavillion from the courtyard looking up the stairs is the best that building has ever looked.

The cladding on the columns looks good from the freeway, but the look as a whole has sort of a retro mid-century modern quality.

Has anyone noticed how tiny a downtown plot the new Minneapolis ballpark is going to be on? Less than the proposed north loop blocks!

Roof almost closed, just in time for the spring storms. It really does look like a UFO. Like the ramp is getting ready to slide out the top followed by Gort and Klaatu.

Unless you are very skilled you might want a professional. I tried to repair some places at my house in West Plaza, but after all my effort, it looked like a well healed scar. I had to do a faux painting technique eventually to camouflage it.

Re: The new Chatham condos plans
That's right. I owned a 3 story monster in Central Hyde that had been totallly gutted down to studs and rafters, new everything mechanical put in, and then the old woodwork put on top of new sheetrock. It was still a lot of maintenance. Once the outside painting was finally done on all sides, it ...
