Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion
That would help so much with amenities, I love the riverfront trail to cliff drive but it’s not very long

Re: T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center)
I'm going to repeat myself from the "trees in kc" thread, but I think it's time to treat our Boulevards like what they're called. They're wide enough to handle some extra wide sidewalks, copious street trees, maybe even some Park Avenue style landscaped medians. Narrow the roadway and add...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion
Are there plans to use part of the rock island way as a bike lane to connect to the trail at the stadiums? If I understand your question correctly, yes there will be a plan to connect the existing Rock Island trail to the urban core. The Linwood Corridor Complete Streets project offers some details...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion
Cons: 1. Low density today 2. Actual support for transit is in question 3. High price tag for an expansive system Transit doesn't need total density, just density around stops/stations. The current Rock Island TOD Study will address land use around select station areas. Jackson County polls the bes...

Re: Westport
^The dynamics of Westport could really change when that happens. There'll be such as reduction of public parking for Westport that it might finally lean more towards a residential district than metro party bar district. Should still be inviting to metro but hopefully party bar aspect toned down a n...

Re: Poll shows support for NKC to secede from KC
Loaded poll, doesn’t seem that relevant Yeah this board has a history of dismissing polls they dont agree with. Looking back at the last mayoral race polls showing Lucas ahead were routinely dismissed. I dont think this will ever happen because of money but there is a divide growing. It’s literally...

Re: Sprint Center opening day pictures
Walnut or main would be a better pedestrianized street. Possibly, but the city is considering doing something with this stretch of Grand because of the continued safety issues. Mostly the drag racing and ATV groups. Would it just be temporary then? I think this is not a good idea but if it is inevi...

Re: OFFICIAL - East Village
Wouldn't that mean we're in a quasi-death spiral for companies in KC then? For example, if companies have to go to suburbs because the workers live there, then that means new workers in KC all have to keep going to the suburbs too because that's where the companies are going. It all just keeps feed...

Re: OFFICIAL - East Village
Anecdotally, I would say it hurts alot. Data shows we can attract top tier young talent. Issue I have seen is that they don't want to drive to Cerner in suburbia everyday and end up leaving. We could be attracting and retaining alot more if we had these businesses in downtown. WFH = young people wa...

The one at Broadway was an awesome corner before it was demolished. Florist shop and apartments above?
