Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
East village would not have gotten any more yes votes. I think it woukd have gotten more no votesi n the suburbs. You guys are in a bubble downtown in relation to the rest of the county What's the difference between EV and EC to someone in Eastern Jack? I know so many people in eastern Jackson Coun...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I think the save the crossroads did more damage than anything. You already had to overcome the suburban vote so once everyone latched onto "destruction of the crossroads", it was all over.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Sorry, but this is bad. This is not coming back to a county vote. No way. At the very best case, the state will have to put in a bunch of money to try and do a hail mary, but it will be for a much more watered down project. This grand project south of the Sprint Center is dead. My guess it KC is goi...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I thought it would fail but not by this much. The downtown stadium may be dead for good.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Grid finds other NFL stadiums boring, but also wants one of those boring stadiums. The bowl of Arrowhead can NOT legally be built again because if modern building codes and the ADA. We will not have the same amount of fans that close to the field and making that much noise, and with such great sigh...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
How’s it constantly make the top 3 “bucket list” stadiums on every single list that comes out if it’s just a “KC” thing? I could take an hour and share 10 links to these types of national fan voted polls but it’s a moot point. Here’s just one. https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/travel/best-nfl-stad...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I think you’re overstating some of these opinions from much of the World Cup “Community”. Also, the “people I talk to outside of KC”. I think you have an opinion then try to cobble phantom support to back it. Huh? I agree it's a classic, but it's also dated at the same time. The renovations are not...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I don't think Arrowhead has quite the reputation people in KC think. Most people I talk to outside of KC just think it's kind of old and dated. Sure it's a classic, but it's nothing special. Much of the world cup community is somewhat confused as to why the WC is being held there. Arrowhead does not...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Most people I know voted no. That includes people in the city literally within the streetcar taxing district and people in the county suburbs.
I will be extremely surprised if it passes.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The only thing special about that u-haul building is it's a pretty large structure in a part of downtown that has few large structures. If they can incorporate it, great. But if something substantial replaces it, that's great too. I mean it's also OLD! why are we so quick to tear down now a days. T...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
As far as my thoughts on this passing. I'm not sure still. Honestly I get the same vibes as I got with the city proposed light rail plan. Everybody all along said it was very close 50/50 and I felt like it had a chance of passing, but it failed by quite a bit. I think this might get voted down by ju...

Re: OFFICIAL - Aspiria (formerly Sprint Campus)
Almost 400,000 sq ft of office space in suburbia? I mean there is zero chance that downtown KC sees even a small 200,000 sq ft building if these keep going up in JoCo. And those renderings. Good lord. Is it 1990 again? I guess they are not using STAR bonds like most other projects like this in KS, s...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
In the Crossroads just now and it's pretty quiet with the only real foot traffic really being people in town for the Big 12 wrestling tournament. You can't tell me that the city is in a position to refuse this, it's madness bordering on selfishness. I wish more people would notice this. Anyway, tha...

Re: Suburban sprawl is a Ponzi scheme
So it looks like KCMO just needs to add 2.9 million people to its city limits. Sounds easy enough.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Have the Royals said anything about the development along Oak going up at the same time as the stadium?
