Re: Illinois Recreational Marijuana Legalized

Y'all come on over to St. Louis, stay downtown, take a trip to the eastside for something other than the gentleman facilities.

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

People will just complain about parking and traffic. I actually find it easier to park and exit out of a Cardinals or Twins game than it is at a Royals game. In St Louis, you can park easily over by 14th and Clarke and the Freeway ramp is right there. There are also lots of spots south of the stadi...

Re: Westport

st. louis Yeah I miss IMO's. The El Fogon place that replaced it just isnt very good. Excited for Big Biscuit to open next door. that imos in westport was terrible, unless they turned it around. although, at least 1/2 of imos locations are pretty bad...the corporate QA/QC re: ingredients and prep a...

Re: Cactuses and Palms Trees in KC?

i have also successfully overwintered texas cultivars of agave in st. louis, without winter protection but heavy ozark gravel drainage, while i lost all of my cactus this past winter (spineless prickly pear...not the missouri version).

Re: Cactuses and Palms Trees in KC?

i also have successfully overwintered needle palms- rhapidophyllum hystrix and trachycarpus fortunei (windmill palms) in st. louis city/county so it's possible in kc. i think south city is a good half of a zone warmer than university city/stl county or kcmo, my palms seemed to do better down there e...

Re: Cactuses and Palms Trees in KC?

Thanks. This is interesting. I've always lamented the lack of native pines in Kansas and Northern Missouri. Whenever I drive through central Missouri (central north/south) I always look for northern stragglers of shortleaf pines out of the Ozarks. I've seen a few around Columbia that I think qualif...

Re: St Louis: City and County Consider Merger

Some sort of consolidation is definitely required, even if it's piecemeal. It's depressing when you look at Hanley Road south of Highway 40 and see a Home Depot in Brentwood, a Menards in Richmond Heights, and a Lowe's in Maplewood, all within half a mile of each other, and all built with TIF by ci...

Re: St Louis: City and County Consider Merger

it was hamfisted in that way that all rex sinquefield related things are. i was initially in favor of it but former stl county exec stengers involvement, who may be headed to prison, killed any chance it had. i live in inner county and the anti-merger signs have popped up like mushrooms after a wet ...

Re: Ballpark Village v4.7 (st. louis)

my shoot from the hip guess is that it will be a satellite of the mastercard tech headquarters, which has over 2500 employees. corporations in chicagoland do this when they have a split workforce of people who live an hour from downtown and a ton of reverse commuters.

speculation rampant that there is a company(s) currently in o'fallon, mo/ st. charles county that are considering a move into BPV. the coast guard is considering closing st. louis harbor, which means the level is high enough to start backing up the missouri river.

Re: Ballpark Village v4.7 (st. louis)

three cranes over downtown st. louis is pretty surreal. used to seeing cranes over nashville like that but not (downtown) st. louis...its a good look! i'll be sad when they start taking down all of these cranes visible along I-64. there's like 7 of them right now between the arch and forest park and...
