Re: wine.
For routine retail wine purchases, I have found Riverside Red X to be an amazing provider of good to great wines at bargain prices. Andy Griffith as sommelier. Purchased three Wine Spectator top 100 for 2006 this week at under $20 each.

Scooterj, that work in the alley between the RiverMarket Fitness building and Mallins building is being done by the owners of the RiverMarket bldg. They say that in 07 they are going to build a new single story building that will face Wyandotte and fill up the west half of the alley.

Something great and unique is Iliki Cafe, nw 62nd and I-29. Scrumptuous middle-eastern food that blows away most every one who trys it. Even traditional meat & potato types. Go for the food, but the staff is very good, too. Don't be put off by the location in a strip mall. When you step insi...

The Morgan Group is scheduled to close on the purchase of the site in January.
Rumor has it that they are having trouble getting the city to commit to any contribution towards the improvement of 2nd street from Delaware to Wyandotte.

Lot's of guessing, and second guessing, but I don't yet see that any of the participants in this thread are privy to the real details of this debate. Dunn's attorney rubs me the wrong way with his rhetoric, but I won't make a judgement based on David Fenley's style. I've had the chance to work wit...

The restaurant operator has been working on this space for a year now. Mostly on his own and with the help of friends. Looks like he is building the space out as cash-flow allows, so don't make your reservations yet........

Would you be in favor of incentives IF the developer replaced the Walnut building with a garage that included retail at the first floor, wrapping the corner?

Welcome Wiz..... re: your questions. Yeah, safety perception is key. This issue affects all of downtown, but its a long term solution. There are still people in the outer ring who are afraid to come to the River Market because of mob violence from 1977. If you drive thru the market area right no...

KCMax, Sportster may be on to something here. Give your wife the stats for 27th and Chestnut, or 9th and Cleveland, along with the words "Gee, you're right honey, there are some neighborhoods we should eliminate from our search." Important to make the wife right. You might peruse the sta...

KC-Vino, you asked some questions yesterday that went unanswered. The 4 story bldg to the west of HOK is owned by a speculative investor who is looking for office tenant leases for one-half of the bldg and then he will start the renovation........good luck. So, no bar/deli/club for now. The HOK bl...

Hey Butter, thanks for the reminder of So redeux. Didn't realize they had adjusted prices either. That, coupled with the local flavor, is going to get me back to visit.
