Re: Capping the Loop
i walk walnut 2-6x a day every single day of the free world. it has not been closed or vacated. if you are going to represent a genuinely-held belief that construction-related reductions to one-way car traffic between 14th and truman or seasonalish/one-offish closures between 13th and 14th on hot c...

Re: Power and Light District Official Tenant List
excited to see something go in there. getting the spots outside the live district proper maxed out would be even nicer of a QOL thing for the neighborhood than filling up the district itself (though of course doing both would be great)

Re: Capping the Loop
closing walnut is a dogshit move conceived by people that operate in the paradigm of "ok pedestrians can have this one little spot, how nice!!" instead of "the entire fucking area needs to be good for pedestrians"

i'm not sure when johnny c's closed, but walked by it this morning and it's fitted out like a little office space or computer lab or something. there was a sign and i forgot what it said but just googled the former johnny c's address and came up with this website: http://www.kcdesigncenter.org/about...

Re: Western Auto Lofts
i don't live here or know anyone who does. a lawsuit in jackson county was recently filed alleging, among other things, that they are looking at repairs across the three buildings in an amount of 7-to-8 figures and assessments on a per-unit basis (range of mid-to-upper five figures for the particula...

Re: P&L District: 13th & Walnut Site Proposal
not sure how much sense that makes given the rent premium i assume cordish commands. plus they would be relative latecomers in the area to that idea, between parlor in the crossroads and strang hall (or whatever it's called) in the building formerly known as city center. not the best negotiating pos...

Re: P&L District: 13th & Walnut Site Proposal
that makes a lot of sense. having some dedicated space for a higher frequency turnover of concepts seems like a win-win at least in the short/medium term. miracle definitely seemed to get butts in seats in p&L. probably asking a lot to come up with a whole other pop-up that does numbers like it ...

as if! i care about development. taking a crumbling sports conference and rebuilding it in place with objectively less valuable pieces isn't development, connectivity, or anything. it's just spending money on something nobody cares about. just let kansas and missouri play each other every other year...

Re: Crown Center: urban disaster, shining star, or in-between
stayed a few hours at the sheraton crown center. hadn't been inside before. knew it was showing its age from reports on here, and yep, it sure is. kind of hard to conceive of this place as a real competitor to loews. i've always liked this building though, and would really like to see a meaningful r...

"I care about development. This isn't development. It's just spending money on something nobody cares about." is an all-time kc rag post. just outstanding. my guy/gal/person is a raw content generation machine. i love this website. back on topic. could we add a zipline course to the propos...

a belated thank you for the tipstering. you mentioned miracle taking over the leinie's location around the holidays again next year. is leinie's a purely spring/summer seasonal model for the foreseeable future? was that always the plan (pre-covid)? i don't remember them being closed for winters befo...
